Rory McIlroy cold-topped one at the DP World Tour Championship

Pro golfers: They're just like us...sometimes!

You've seen Rory McIlroy hit hundreds, maybe thousands, of spectacular shots in his short pro career. That means you probably haven't seen him hit too many duds. Well, he did on Friday in the second round of the DP World Tour Championship in Dubai.

McIlroy was trying to hit a cut 3-wood to the green at the par-5 seventh on the Earth course at Jumeirah Golf Estates. Not only did the ball not cut, it didn't go very far.

You can look at it like a terrible second shot or a modest layup. McIlroy chose the latter, made his par and went on to shoot 2-under 70, which leaves him two shots behind halfway leader and defending champion Henrik Stenson. The round continues McIlroy's career streak of 22 rounds at par or better on the Dubai course.
