The shot in golf that is most talked about is the hole-in-one. It's the question you get from your random aunt that has never picked up a golf club and the shot that makes the local newspaper if you happen to be the lucky one to write down "1" on your scorecard, but it isn't the best golf shot in the game.

That shot is the albatross, or double-eagle, which is 3-under on a single hole instead of a hole-in-one which is simply an eagle and it happened on Friday at the Volvo Golf Champions event in South Africa.

Joost Luiten, the 28-year-old Dutch pro with three career European Tour wins, was on the par-5 10th hole and had 248 yards to the hole. What club did he pull? A 4-iron (not a typo), and while the hole was playing downwind, it still was going to take a pretty solid strike to get all the way back to that flag.

Luiten's ball landed short of the green, kicked up nicely, and rolled out. It didn't initially look like it would go in for the rare albatross, but the ball caught the right lip and disappeared.

Luiten used the nice 3-under on one hole help to get into a tie for the lead after 36 holes with Louis Oosthuizen (who knows a thing or two about double-eagles himself) and Tommy Fleetwood at Durban Country Club.
