In the meantime, this happened while you were sleeping on Friday morning:

Thursday's afternoon players were Friday's morning ones, putting guys like Phil Mickelson, Adam Scott, and Bubba Watson back on the course soon after their first rounds concluded. In the early hours of Friday, the winds began gusting, and only George Coetzee and D.A. Points managed an under-par round. But Coetzee, playing on his 28th birthday, put together a strong start to his round to briefly tie Rory McIlroy at the top of the leaderboard. He closed his round at -5, one back of McIlroy.

Adam Scott surrendered some of his Thursday success with two early bogeys. Phil Mickelson played typical Phil golf, which is to say, birdies, bogeys, eagles, and out of bounds recoveries.

So with the harsher weather rolling in, away we go...if you're showing up late, scroll back up a few hours in the chat below and catch up. Thanks for joining us!
