J.J. Henry — AP
J.J. Henry, winner of 2012 Reno-Tahoe Open and Connecticut native, wore a hat with the letters "SHES" in honor of the victims during his pro-am round in Hawaii on Thursday, saying after that it is simply a small gesture to those that were affected by this horrible situation.
"People know who I am in Connecticut," Henry said. "If I happen to get on TV and hit some good shots, and if Golf Channel talks about it ... it's not about me. I just wanted to do something as someone who grew up there and went to those schools. If Golf Channel can talk about the whole PGA Tour family, we all feel the same way. I think that's what we're all after."
It might be a simple move by Henry to do this, but you have to appreciate a pro taking the time to ask sponsors and such to move things around so he can do this small gesture. A very cool move if you ask me.
