Gimmick or not, the 17th at Sawgrass always gives us some strangeness to check out, and this year's Players Championship is no exception. Kevin Stadler, as seen above, had to flip his club around and hit left-handed to dig it off the wooden edge, and did so just fine.
Meanwhile, Ben Crane got a bit more acrobatic, dinging his ball off the wood frame not once but twice. He hit it after flying the green on his tee shot, and the ball bounded across the lagoon. On his approach, he hit the wood again, and ended up with one of the luckiest bogeys of his career.
And we imagine there's plenty of strangeness left at the Island Green. Skip-shot ace, anyone?
