SCOTTSDALE, ARIZ. -- If you were hoping the Waste Management Open would be finishing up at some point on Sunday, with time to spare so you could whip up your infamous guacamole dip for the Super Bowl, you're out of luck.

PGA Tour officials announced that the frozen tundra in Phoenix will overlap the snowy terrain in Dallas, as players will be going as late as the sun will allow on Sunday, and the tournament will wrap up on Monday.

The Monday finish at the Waste Management will be the first at this event since 1978, but officials say that some of the fourth round will try to be played on Sunday, meaning that fans out at the tournament could miss the entire first half of the Super Bowl.

What does this mean? Well, the tournament that seems to never end will have a full day on Monday to get it all wrapped up, which is probably a relief to most of the players. Bubba Watson commented on Thursday that the entire day, with the waiting and such, fatigued him a bit, and having another day so not to cram in the tournament on Sunday will allow everyone a little more time to rest and relax.

It also means that there will be golf on Monday, never a bad thing for the worker trying his hardest not to actually get any work done on Monday.
