The bad news for Geoff Ogilvy is that Sunday at the Honda Classic was not the site of his first PGA Tour win since 2010. He finished second alone behind Michael Thompson at PGA National, but that didn't stop him from pulling off the shot of the day by far.
On the 16th hole, Ogilvy was still searching for his first birdie of the day. To that point he had made par on every hole except one, the par-4 14th, where Ogilvy made bogey, but he was still in the tournament at one of the toughest test of the entire year.
That's when he pulled off this shot you see above, a chip-in that was so ridiculous it brought back memories of Tiger Woods at the 2005 Masters. Ogilvy's soft hands allowed the ball to land with spin, but it still needed a little help from gravity to find the bottom of the cup.
It went, Ogilvy had his birdie, and despite another birdie on the 18th it wasn't enough to take down Thompson. Still, a ridiculously impressive shot by the former U.S. Open champion on his way to a great finish and hopefully a jumpstart that will bring him back to the guy we used to know.
