The best photos from the third round of the PGA Championship

With a rain-shortened third round at the PGA Championship in the books, it's time to look back on the highs and lows with some of the best photos from the day. The weather, Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy? Yep, they all made our photo cut.

We highlight some of our favorites after the jump.

Tiger Woods started the day tied for the lead at 4-under, but when play was called at 6:45 p.m., he was five shots behind Rory McIlroy and Vijay Singh, who left the course at 6-under.

What's Rory McIlroy looking for? Try his ball, after it ended up getting lodged in a tree on the par-4 third hole. He would take an unplayable and still go on to make par.

I call this photo of Ian Poulter on the par-4 third hole, "The calm before the storm."

And here's the storm that canceled play for the day at the PGA Championship. Players are set to return to the course and restart the third round at 7:45 a.m. ET.

Well hello there, Mr. and Mrs. Gator. Lovely day, isn't it? Don't worry, we're pretty sure everyone in this week's field left their ball retriever at home.
