Adam Scott's worldwide streak of 15 years with a win in jeopardy
Adam Scott has one last chance to win a golf tournament for the 16th consecutive year.
Scott came up a shot short of winning the Australian Open on Sunday, finishing tied with defending champion Jordan Spieth behind winner and fellow countryman Matt Jones. A closing 6-under 65 wasn't good enough to get his first win Down Under since 2013 and first Aussie Open title since 2009.
The former world No. 1 made a 15-foot par on the 17th hole that left him a shot off Jones' pace. Scott birdied the par-5 18th to pull level several groups ahead, but Jones' par on the same hole was good enough to win.
''I left myself with a little bit of work to do there on 17, but anytime you want to put yourself in a position to win, you've got to make some putts,'' Scott
Now Scott has a final start remaining on his 2015 calendar, Tiger Woods' Hero World Challenge, played at Scott's Bahamas home course, Albany, to continue a streak dating back to 2001 with at least one worldwide win.
Scott hasn't won anywhere in the world since the 2014 Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial, when he defeated Jason Dufner in a playoff and secured the top spot in the Official World Golf Ranking.
