Look back on the 2011 seasons of Junior, Johnson and Keselowski

We're just weeks away from the start of the 2012 season ... and, really, only weeks away from the end of the 2011 one, too. NASCAR's funny that way. Anyway, let's continue with our season wrapups, featuring a few guys whose names you know well.

First up, Dale Earnhardt Jr. experienced a renaissance of sorts, making the Chase and doing pretty much everything but, you know, winning:

Next up, Jimmie Johnson, who saw his Cup chances end a whole lot earlier this year than they have in the past half-decade:

Finally, Brad Keselowski, who came from as close as you can to "out of nowhere" to make the Chase and briefly throw a scare into the sport's leaders:

Your thoughts on these three fine gentlemen's runs in 2011? Fire away.

I gotta be honest i am not a fan nor do i dislike junior but lets have some sanity here. Dale had a total of FOUR top fives the ENTIRE year and lead FIFTY laps the ENTIRE year!!! I mean he and his team did a good of salvaging bad days and avoided dissatrous finishes but to say he had a GREAT year?? i mean come on. I think he will contend for the chase but a championship, don't see it

Jr has been lurking in the shadows for some time now -- after all he finished just a few points behind Mr. 5-Time with out winning a race. That next little nudge and then get ready -- MOVE OVER - HERE COMES # 88 -- Jr will be mashing that gas and hauling that #$%$ Go Gettum June Bug

It will be "Jr.'s year" oly if Nascar wants it to be - its as rigged and fake as the WWE with the exception that the WWE admits they are for entertainment value only (fake!!) No way can anyone, including Jimmy Johnson win five consecutive titles w/o specific concessions from Nascar - they finally figured out Johnson's winning couldn't carry Nascar as Earnhardt Sr. did.
Nascar needs help bad - Jr. winning a title could be a shot in the arm for them - Jr. winning a title driving the BLACK Goodwrench Chevy (#3 or #8) for Childress would send the ratings through outer space.. my prediction seven years ago..... so, now its about time for Jr. to save Nascar by their allowing him to win a title... I referred to it as the "changing of the guards" - has happened three times since the late 1970's to now.....Nascar ALWAQYS has a "fair-haired boy" that they want to win - most of the time he wins, sometimes there's slip-up and Earnhardt Sr. wins (titles numbers 5,6 and seven)..he was told by Nascar he would not win another after four.... think about this - Jeff Gordon has won four titles, he's done - hadn't figured out how they slipped and let Johnson win five - Petty was to remain the "king" all by himself....

And I'll bet Mike Helton is actually an alien in a human body who is controlled by other aliens - who reside in the mothership somewhere above the earths atmosphere.

Not only that, but from this same mothership, they can also control the finishing order of any given NASCAR race. Right?

Lee, are you being followed? Maybe by secret agent Russians who want to interrogate you and reveal all of your conspiracy theories?

Shhhhh....they're probably reading this right now!
