Week 5 Lames: Russell Wilson may leave Cincy with only two limbs attached

Each week the Noise highlights 10 somewhat un-obvious names whom he believes are destined to implode leave egg on his face. To qualify, each player must be started in at least 50 percent of Yahoo leagues. Speaking as an accountability advocate, I will post results, whether genius or moronic, the following week using the scoring system shown here (Thresholds – QB: 18 fpts, RB: 13 fpts, WR: 11 fpts, TE: 10 fpts). If you're a member of TEAM HUEVOS, reveal your Week 5 Lames in the comments section below.

Russell Wilson, Sea, QB (88 percent started, $37 in Yahoo DFS)

Matchup: at Cin
Cardboard cut-outs of One Direction. Magnetic football figurines. Friendly apparitions. No matter what the Seattle offensive line is constructed from, it's highly permeable, to say the least. The Wilson pressure cooker is stuck on 11. Under duress a league-high 43.9 percent of the time, he's had to fend off relentless zombie herds in an attempt to move the chains and, most importantly, remain upright. If not for his shiftiness and quick-thinking, Wilson would be laid out on a hospital bed. Through four games, he's on pace for a David Carr-like 72 sacks. Evidenced in his 44.3 rushing yards per game owners have benefited from the constant badgering, but it seems the QB, and the organization as a whole, are playing with fire. Bank on Wilson to again sit firmly on a bunsen burner this week, especially if hamstrung Marshawn Lynch is unavailable or limited. The Bengals boast a formidable defense. They swarmed under Alex Smith five times last Sunday and have surrendered only one 18-plus point fantasy QB in four games, Joe Flacco in Week 3. Corners Leon Hall and Pacman Jones, who each rank top-20 in pass coverage per Pro Football Focus, have given up just 8.3 yards per catch this year. Toss in Seattle's struggles on the road and confidence for Wilson to finish top-12 this week isn't high. Jay Cutler (at KC), Marcus Mariota (vs. Buf) and Philip Rivers (vs. Pit) are more attractive alternatives.

Fearless Forecast: 19-31, 215 passing yards, 1 passing touchdown, 1 interception, 38 rushing yards, 15.4 fantasy points

Mark Ingram, NO, RB (87 percent started, $24)

Matchup: at Phi
After a rocky start to his career, one that unfairly labeled him a 'bust,' the former Alabama Slammer and Heisman Trophy winner has started to live up to the mammoth expectations placed upon him when he entered the league four years ago. Ingram, for all intents and purposes, is the engine that drives the New Orleans offense. He's tough between the tackles, featured often inside the red-zone and has developed into an elite receiver. C.J. Spiller's role should steadily grow as the season wears on, but Ingram is on pace for 1,628 combined yards, eight touchdowns and, get this, 88 receptions. Call him the Matt Forte of the South. Despite his blood-stirring start, a lackluster performance is on the horizon. Philadelphia, even down coveted linebacker Kiko Alonso, has been ironclad against the run. They've yielded a mere 3.41 yards per carry, 131.5 total yards per game and zero scores to the position, good for the fifth-fewest fantasy points allowed. Defensive tackle Bennie Logan alone has accounted for 17 stops, the most among D lineman. Ingram should receive his usual 15-20 touches, but bank on demure production.

Fearless Forecast: 15 carries, 57 rushing yards, 3 receptions, 14 receiving yards, 0 touchdowns, 8.6 fantasy points

Devonta Freeman, Atl, RB (78 percent started, $27)

Matchup: vs. Was
If you surveyed 100 members of the fantasy community in early September and told them Freeman would be the No. 1 RB after four weeks, they would've likely responded with a four-letter word or three. The smallish rusher's ascent from change-of-pace option behind hotshot rookie Tevin Coleman to the Darth Maul of RBs is nothing short of stupefying. If you saw this coming, you probably received inside information. His two-game 6-TD run aside, Freeman has been spectacular under the hood. He's logged the most 15-plus yard runs of any rusher (5) and ranks top-five in missed tackle percentage (19.7) and yards per route run. He's also gained an appreciable 52.7 percent of his yards after contact. That's an amazing level of production for a pocket-sized RB (5-foot-8, 205 pounds). However, the cops are about to shut down the party. Coleman, who practiced on a limited basis earlier this week, could return to the lineup. Though he'll likely play second fiddle, the rookie impressed during his brief stint as lead horse. It would be no surprise if he and Freeman form a 60-40 backfield moving forward, with the latter receiving the bulk of the work. Remember, Devonta averaged less than 2.0 yards per carry over the season's first two weeks. This Sunday's matchup is also unfavorable, unlike previous tilts against Dallas and Houston. Washington's 3-4, anchored by LB Ryan Kerrigan and DE Chris Baker, have stonewalled the run. The stingiest ground unit in fantasy has conceded only 3.29 yards per carry and 82.3 total yards per game to RBs. Atlanta's zone-blocking scheme under Kyle Shanahan has been otherworldly, but this is likely the week Freeman crashes back to Earth.

Fearless Forecast: 13 carries, 47 rushing yards, 4 receptions, 38 receiving yards, 0 touchdowns, 10.5 fantasy points

Amari Cooper, Oak, WR (90 percent started, $26)

Matchup: vs. Den
Cooper is special. That hard-crush-you-had-for-your-teacher-in-fourth grade kind of special. His wide catch radius, height, rapid acceleration, athleticism and ankle-twisting breaks comprise a Pro-Bowl worthy skill set. Though drops have occasionally impacted him (4 on 28 catchable balls), he currently ranks as the league leader in yards after catch among wide receivers (192) and is the 12th-best WR in virtual pigskin. Essentially, he's a budding megastar who's sure to be a starting fantasy fixture for eons to come. However, even the great ones notch the occasionally ghastly performance. Given the difficult opponent, Denver, it could be one of those instances. Few wideouts have spread their wings in the 'No Fly Zone.' Corners Chris Harris Jr., Aqib Talib and Bradley Roby each rank top-35 in pass coverage according to Pro Football Focus. Overshadowed Darian Stewart (39.6 QB rating allowed) is arguably the best cover safety in the league. As a whole, the Broncos have yielded just 6.0 pass yards per attempt. More damning for Cooper's Week 5 potential, Steve Smith Sr., Calvin Johnson, Golden Tate and Jeremy Maclin each failed to crack the 80-yard mark against them. Pile on Denver's dogged pass rush (17 total sacks), and AC/DC could be the one's "Thunderstruck." View Cooper as more WR3 than sure-fire WR1/2.

Fearless Forecast: 5 receptions, 53 receiving yards, 0 touchdowns, 7.8 fantasy points

[Week 5 rankings: Quarterback Running Back | Receiver Flex | All Positions]

T.Y. Hilton, Ind, WR (86 percent started, $24)
Matchup: at Hou
Hindered by a bruised knee, Indy's pathetic offensive line and Andrew Luck's limitations/absence, Hilton has blended into the background for fantasy purposes, pushing his talented teammate, Donte Moncrief, into the spotlight. The veteran has seen a healthy 41 targets, but has capitalized only occasionally on those opportunities, catching 22 passes for 294 yards and zero touchdowns. His resulting 10.1 fantasy points per game in .5 point PPR formats lands outside the top-40 among wide receivers. After a one-week hiatus, Luck should be back under center for Thursday's clash with Houston. However, don't automatically assume Hilton will suddenly regain his play-making form. Thrown at 28 times this year, corner Jonathan Joseph has given up just 11 receptions, the third-lowest catch percentage allowed (39.3) among DBs with at least 200 snaps. Tag-team partner, rookie Kevin Johnson, is also no slouch, tied with venerable Vontae Davis for 24th in pass coverage per PFF. Hilton is on pace for a laudable 88 receptions for 1,176 yards, but given Moncrief's red-zone dominance, the former Pro Bowl selection will rarely flash his signature T.Y. gesture in the end-zone. Expect only average production in H-Town.

Fearless Forecast: 5 receptions, 66 receiving yards, 0 touchdowns, 9.1 fantasy points
