Throwing Darts: Laying a big number at Seattle

Still nine weeks to go. I need a miracle every day.

Seahawks -16.5 vs. Bucs: Usually I'll take the dog reflexively in these big-line spots, but the rules are different for Greg Schiano's Quitting Time Buccaneers. I have no problem going short memory on Seattle, ignoring the Monday slog; obviously it's a different team at home.

Steelers +6.5 at Patriots: Still too much line respect for a New England team that has all sorts of issues (dysfunctional offense, injury-riddled defense). And throwing the ball is never easy against this Steelers secondary.

Raiders -2.5 vs. Eagles: Oakland's turned into a semi-reliable team at home, a junkyard dog of sorts, and you love a host spotting less than the standard three. Which Nick Foles will we see this time around?

Texans +2.5 vs. Colts: This is Houston's season, a must-win game on a national stage and coming off a bye week. After seeing Case Keenum hold it together in a respectable loss at Kansas City, I'm optimistic. He can at least challenge a defense vertically, something Matt Schaub couldn't (or wouldn't) do.

Bears +10.5 at Packers: It's a lot of points for a divisional game, especially when you consider the underdog is no pushover. I know, Josh McCown, that's an issue - but I have a great deal of faith in Marc Trestman, especially with extra prep time.
