Sometimes a crummy run in the middle of the year happens, but it's shielded by a good start. But when you can't pick a winner at the opening of the season, the scoreboard is the cruelest thing in the world.
Pick against these if you want. I wouldn't blame you one bit.
Browns +4 vs. Bengals: Like the junkyard dog defense and the Bengals secondary has all sorts of injury problems. Four points could be a lot in this type of game.
Bears +3 at Lions: Marc Trestman looks like coach of the year; still not convinced Matt Stafford plays a clean game.
Cardinals +2.5 at Bucs: Mike Glennon was limited in his reps with Jackson and Williams, a major problem. Arizona's defense can still get after it. Cardinals spring the minor upset.
Falcons -2 vs. Patriots: Atlanta has better skill players, home field, and they're also the more desperate team.
Saints -6.5 vs. Dolphins: Finally, the Saints defense is all growns up. This is a very difficult place for any road team during a prime time game.
-- Last week: 0-5
-- Season: 3-12
-- 2010, 2011, 2012: Very good records. Kind of irrelevant now.
