USA Today's Bob Nightengale offers a Stephen Strasburg update via Twitter:

"Strasburg, who got a $15.1 million guaranteed contract won't make his MLB debut before 2010, Boras says. Press conference likely on Thursday.

That's not necessarily the news that fantasy owners were hoping for, but of course it's the right move for the Nats. Strasburg pitched 109 brilliant innings for San Diego State this year, striking out 195 batters and walking only 19. He obviously could have sold a few Nationals tickets at the end of a lost season, but that's hardly the right reason to showcase his 103 mph heat on the major league stage.

Besides, the Nats really can't afford to keep winning. This mini-streak they're on – 11 wins in 14 games – has left them dangerously close to the Royals in the "race" to land the No. 1 pick in the 2010 MLB Draft. And that pick, you'll recall, will likely be teenage phenom Bryce Harper.

Here are your updated Harper standings:

Beyond the Boxscore has been tracking the Harper battle more consistently. That competition has gotten remarkably close, considering the lead that Washington once enjoyed.
