Important Mewelde/Willie news here, via the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette:

Pro Bowl running back Willie Parker, who is concerned about the health of his sprained knee, did not practice today and is not expected to play against the New York Giants

Parker has missed the past three games with a sprained medial collateral ligament in his left knee. He went through a full practice Wednesday, but was limited in his work on Thursday.

He will be replaced in the starting lineup by Mewelde Moore.

There are a small number of not-so-deep leagues in which you can still add Moore, but the Steelers face the Giants in Week 8, so you can't expect another three touchdown game. What works against the Bengals won't necessarily work against a New York defense that has given up only two rushing TDs so far this season. The Giants allow the second-fewest fantasy points to running backs.

If Parker can just get himself healthy enough to face the Colts in Week 10, then perhaps he'll boost his value before your league's trade deadline. Pittsburgh has a terrifying schedule in the fantasy playoffs (at BAL in Week 15, at TEN in Week 16).

Update: Another news item from the Post-Gazette requires your attention...

Steelers receiver Santonio Holmes did not practice with the team today and will not play in Sunday's game against the New York Giants after police said they stopped him with marijuana yesterday.

Coach Mike Tomlin said Holmes, a third-year receiver who is second on the team with 22 catches and 360 yards receiving, will be listed as inactive for the game.

Widely-available Nate Washington is the appropriate add. He has long touchdown receptions (48, 50) in each of the Steelers' last two games.
