If Baltimore Ravens kicker Tucker is not now your favorite athlete human, I can only assume it's because you lost to a Tucker-led fantasy team in Week 15. The man booted six field goals on Monday night, accounting for all points scored by the Ravens, extending his streak of successful kicks to 33.
The highlight kick, without question, was this go-ahead 61-yarder, nailed with 43 seconds on the clock. That's badass. (Awesome call by Tirico, too.) Tucker's other five kicks were from 53, 49, 32, 29 and 24 yards — relative layups, compared to the game-winner.
Was Tucker thrilled to play such a vital role in Baltimore's win? Well, sure. But he was extra happy to have helped you, personally, in the fantasy semifinals.
"I was getting hit up, actually, quite a bit on the Twittershpere leading up to the game for a couple days, people in their fantasy playoff matchups. And, you know, those are very important. So I'm glad to have come through, of course, for my team here — for my reality-team. But also my fantasy owners, a big thank you for picking me up. It means a lot to me."
So yeah, Justin Tucker is pretty much the greatest American. He knows what's up. If he carried you to an improbable come-from-behind win on Monday night, go ahead and take a victory lap in comments. You've earned it. Or rather, he earned it on your behalf.
Onward to Championship Week, Tucker owners. LET'S DO THIS THING.
