If you had V-Mart in the hamstring pool

Honestly, we're not trying to turn this into an injury blog. But if you scroll down to the bottom of the White Sox-Indians box score, you'll find an important game note:

CLEVELAND CATCHER VICTOR MARTINEZ HAS LEFT THE GAME IN THE BOTTOM OF THE SECOND INNING WITH AN APPARENT LEFT HAMSTRING INJURY.

This news threatens to give Matt Buser a decisive victory in this debate, and it's painful for those of us who took Martinez at the turn in AL-only drafts. Kelly Shoppach is now hitting cleanup and catching for Cleveland.

The Cleveland Plain Dealer seems to confirm that Y! game note:

Martinez left because of tightness in his left hamstring and is listed as day-to-day.

Here are a few widely-available catchers, just in case:

JR Towles (59.4 percent owned), Mike Napoli (13.0), Paul Lo Duca (22.5), Chris Snyder (6.7), Kurt Suzuki (4.3), Carlos Ruiz (3.2).

Snyder is batting fifth for the Diamondbacks today, and they're playing in two pretty fair hitters parks this week (Cincinnati and Colorado). No one's replacing what you expected from Martinez, though. He began his day 2/2 with a run and an RBI. Let's hope this isn't much.
