Daily Dime: King Felix and a mini stack at Coors Field

Daily Dime: King Felix and a mini stack at Coors Field

As always when playing Yahoo Daily Fantasy Baseball, be sure to check the final lineups and the weather.

With more options available for contests starting at 7:05 ET, I’m going to concentrate on Friday’s later batch of games.

My full lineup:

SP: Felix Hernandez $51

SP: Robbie Ray $33

C: Stephen Vogt $11

1B: Paul Goldschmidt $21

2B: Joe Panik $18

3B: Josh Donaldson $15

SS: Carlos Correa $17

OF: Carlos Gonzalez $14

OF: Gregor Blanco $14

OF: Corey Dickerson $10

Hernandez’s velocity is way down, and his 9.2 K-BB% is easily a career low, as he’s no longer the ace he once was. Still, he owns a 1.55 ERA and a 0.97 WHIP at home this season, and Hernandez faces a Twins offense that’s scored the fewest runs in the American League. The Mariners (-220) are the biggest favorites on the board Friday...Ray has been fortunate to sport a 4.18 ERA with a 1.61 WHIP, but he has 52 strikeouts over 47.1 innings, and the Padres have scored the third fewest runs in MLB (and have recorded the third most strikeouts).

Goldschmidt is in the midst of a down year, but he has a .913 OPS at home with a combined nine homers/steals over 78 at bats and gets a lefty Friday...Correa is too talented to be the seventh highest priced shortstop, while Donaldson also is a huge bargain at just $15. He hasn’t matched last year’s MVP production, but he’s still on pace to finish with 36 homers and 122 runs scored and typically hits better at home. There are 12 third basemen higher priced than Donaldson on Friday.

There’s some chance of rain in Colorado, so be sure to double check the weather, but I went with a mini stack in Coors Field using Panik, Blanco and Gonzalez. Blanco should be in the lineup with Angel Pagan on the DL, and with Hunter Pence also banged up, Jarrett Parker ($11) could be another interesting cheap option if he gets the start. Gonzalez is hitting .323/.372/.520 against righties this season and has been heating up lately, as he’s 8-for-16 over his past four games.

Good luck with your contests Friday.
