Stephen Curry left Wednesday's game with a strained right posterior tibialis tendon that will keep him out of All-Star festivities, but the hope is that it will not cost him any games after the break. Curry will head to Charlotte for his rest and rehab and visit with the doctors that have handled his right ankle issues. X-rays were negative and there has been ample clarification that this injury was not to his right ankle specifically, but you have to wonder if/how it might be related to general weakness caused by all those sprains. Feel free to stay cautiously optimistic - as Curry is - until we hear news from Charlotte, but you'll also want to keep those fingers crossed... and check on Nate Robinson's status in your league.
• Jordan Crawford's hot streak continued Wednesday as the Wizards employed their three-guard against the Kings' version in an eventual 115-107 loss. Crawford was the Wizards' most effective offensive player, scoring a season-high 32 points in efficient fashion (12-19 FG, 3-6 3PT, 5-6 FT). Randy Wittman has been turning to Crawford with more frequency because of limited production from small forwards Chris Singleton and Rashard Lewis, and it's not difficult to foresee that poor production continuing. Minutes equals stats for Crawford - for better or worse - so he's worth a look in a number of formats and team contexts, but he relies entirely too much on questionable perimeter shots for his recent streak of efficiency to continue (31 minutes, 21.2 points, 54% FG over the past five games).
• Status updates: Nuggets on Thursday: Ty Lawson (ankle) is questionable, Nene Hilario (calf) is doubtful .. Jason Richardson was still feeling pain in his chest as of Wednesday and looks doubtful for Thursday, but has yet to be officially ruled out ..
• Scanning the Buzz Index leaders: Bismack Biyombo posted his best line of the season Wednesday (9 points, 4-8 FG, 10 boards, 6 blocks) and has now turned away 15 shots over the past three games (30 minutes per game). Bobcats coaches love his work ethic and Paul Silas won't find a good reason to turn away from him as the starting center moving forward. Just note that his FT% (42% on the season) is going to work against his overall impact .. Corey Brewer is a player that can come off rosters over the break as fantasy owners look for more staying power. He saw a spike in minutes over the past two weeks but will go back to a (much) smaller role with a healthy Danilo Gallinari back in the mix, and Wilson Chandler could also be joining the roster .. Ekpe Udoh's follow-up to Tuesday's big line was zero points, four boards, and one block in 22 minutes against the Suns on Wednesday. Udoh has now scored zero points in four of the past eight games, averaging 21 minutes, 1.8 field goal attempts, 2.8 boards, and 3 blocks in those four games.
