Every transaction at this point of the season should be completely need-based. What you don't need: name recognition and/or "value." What you do need: the best numbers possible from a collection of active players. It doesn't matter where production comes from, all that matters is that you get as much production as possible.
• Rajon Rondo could have played through his finger injury Sunday if it were a playoff game, but Doc Rivers decided to hold him out. Rivers called it "nothing bad" but his status for Monday night's game has yet to be announced.
• Other status updates: Kevin Love (groin) is going to make every effort to play Wednesday but will likely be a game-day decision ... Manu Ginobili (quad) is questionable for Monday ... Johnson (thumb) is questionable for the Hawks' matchup with the Magic on Wednesday ... Brandon Roy (back) and Nicolas Batum (quad) are both questionable for the Blazers, and Batum is likely to be heading to the bench either way ... Andrei Kirilenko (knee) and Devin Harris (hamstring) are both out for the Jazz on Monday ... The Bobcats expect to have both Stephen Jackson (misc.) and Tyrus Thomas (ribs) active on Monday. Thomas is expected to play limited minutes for the balance of the season ... Jameer Nelson (knee) is likely out Monday, meaning Gilbert Arenas could make his first start for the Magic ... Kyle Lowry (foot) expects to play Tuesday ... For the Wizards, Nick Young (knee) and Andray Blatche (shoulder) are both out Monday, and Trevor Booker (foot) is very questionable.
• Monday's most added players: Jared Dudley, Chase Budinger, Francisco Garcia, Ekpe Udoh, Tony Allen, Stephen Jackson, Sasha Vujacic, Baron Davis, Tyreke Evans, Samuel Dalembert
• Monday's most dropped players: Nick Young, David West, Trevor Booker, Peja Stojakovic, Anthony Randolph, Devin Harris, Toney Douglas, C.J. Miles, Andrei Kirilenko, Rodrigue Beaubois, and Luc Richard Mbah a Moute
