The Chiefs haven't passed judgment on troubled Tweeter Larry Johnson(notes) yet, but the team's Tuesday statement regarding LJ had an ominous tone to it (when you're banned from team activities, you're just one step away from a suspension or release). And coincidence of coincidences, Todd Haley had positive things to say about Jamaal Charles(notes) at the coach's Tuesday press conference, saying the young back is starting to "get it." I can't guarantee that any running back is going to do much behind that dreadful Chiefs OL, but I'd bet on Charles leading the team in carries from here to the end of the season. And in this numbers racket of ours, opportunity means a lot. [Kansas City Star]

Andre Johnson(notes) is using Twitter more constructively than LJ these days; a few hours ago the star wideout said his bruised lung is doing fine and "I feel better." We're a long way from Week 8 kickoff but at least the early vibes are good. [Andre Johnson on Twitter]

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Chris Cooley(notes) got some good news from a foot specialist Tuesday and the tight end might have a shot to play in four weeks. I wouldn't give Cooley a bench spot in any sort of deep fantasy league right now - tight end is too deep this season – but if you've got a slew of bench spots or an IR area to use, the plan changes. Is this the week the Titans finally let Vince Young(notes) out of purgatory and let him start a game? You're 0-6 and your season is over, Jeff Fisher. Might as well see if there's any chance of salvaging something with Young. Tennessee owner Bud Adams reportedly wants Young to take over as the starter. [Nashville Tennessean]

Matthew Stafford(notes) (knee) was back at practice Tuesday but it's too early to have a good feel for what his status will be against the Rams this week. Calvin Johnson(notes) did not work out Tuesday, for what it's worth. [MLive.com]

The Jaguars secondary is already taking on water and things might be getting worse; top cover guy Rashean Mathis(notes) has a broken index finger and is no guarantee to play against Tennessee. Mind you, we can't be sure the Titans will take advantage of this matchup – no matter who their quarterback is – but it's still something you should be aware of as you make your Week 8 plans. Okay, as bad as Brady Quinn(notes) was earlier in the season, Derek Anderson(notes) has been worse. But nonetheless the Browns aren't ready to switch back to Quinn; Anderson will get the nod Sunday against Chicago. [Cleveland Plain Dealer]

Is the biggest "square" running away with your pick-em pool this season? Is no one getting eliminated in your weekly Survivor pool? Let's head to Vegas and try to figure this goofy season out from a handicapping perspective. [Las Vegas Review Journal, h/t Roto Synthesis]

Jason Campbell(notes) says he sprained his right ankle during the first Washington drive Monday night and it affected him for the remainder of the game. This doesn't give Campbell a pass for his spotty decisions in the pocket or his tendency to throw maddening checkdowns on third-and-long, but we're trying to be fair and balanced with our Campbell spins. He did look great in the final 9:38 of the game, for whatever that means, and his fantasy bottom line was decent. The Redskins get a much-needed bye in Week 8. [Washington Post, Yahoo! Monday Wrap]
