Toronto Raptors’ DeMar DeRozan throws down poster dunk on Denver’s Timofey Mozgov (VIDEO)

Denver Nuggets 7-footer Timofey Mozgov is a NBA player in good standing.  Yet the Toronto Raptors' DeMar DeRozan rendered him the equivalent of the pro wrestling jobber who takes abuse from a Face.

This was a facial. After the Raptors missed some connections on some attempted alley-oops early in their Tuesday night tilt against Denver, DeRozan decided to just take it to the rack himself. The Raptors guard pretty much put the term Mosgoved — coined two seasons ago after Los Angeles Clippers star Blake Griffin threw down a famous dunk over the big man — back into the basketball vernacular. Whatever term the kids are using now a dunk that was, well, I'm afraid you used dated slang ... let's just say this was it.

It probably compares pretty favourably with the Griffin dunk from 2010.

Now please do not be that person who antagonizes long-time Raptors fans by asking, "Is Timofey Mosgov is Russian for Frédéric Weis?" in reference to the 7-foot-2 Frenchman that He Who Must Not Be Mentioned posterized during the 2000 Olympics while playing for Toronto. It is still too soon to mention him until DeRozan and Rudy Gay can lead the Raptors as far as they ever advanced in the NBA playoffs during that era; the past won't be past until then.

Anyway, don't pity Mozgov. It happens to every NBA big man whose length is no match for a gravity-defying dunker like DeRozan. Spare some empathy for this Raps fan.
