Tiger Woods’ ex-wife bulldozes $12 million home

    Courtesy of Pacific Coast News

There are times when divorce forces people to do strange things. Burn sheets. Throw out clothes. Toss rings into the ocean. But when you get $100 million in your divorce, you can trump just about anything and that's what happened with Tiger Woods' ex-wife when she bought a $12 million home and bulldozed the whole thing.

[Check the before picture above and the after picture after the jump]

Yes, according to TMZ, Elin Nordegren bought a $12 million home in North Palm Beach, Fla., but didn't like it, and has plowed the whole thing.

The house, which had six bedrooms and eight bathrooms, is now just rubble, with no word yet on what is going to replace the beautiful building you see above, but I guess when you have nine figures in the bank, it doesn't really matter what you want.

I guess we can all applaud Elin on not rolling over after all this happened and continuing on with her life. But I think we can all agree on one thing: Why in the world is she still in Florida? Wouldn't you want to move back home for good?

Okay, you all need to hush about wasting the money while other americans cant pay their rent or mortgage. Yes, it was obviously a huge waste of money, but instead of complaining about how people are struggling with their current homes, you should be thinking about the people without these homes, even the animals. There is more to this world than just having a nice house to live in with clean forks and knives and cloth napkins for the holidays. What about the homeless or people in impoverished countries? They're not worrying about how many months behind they are on their rent or taking out a second mortgage. As i said before, this was a huge waste of money, but it seems that Elin's fellow Americans--many of you "posters" on this site--also seem to have misguided ideas about how a plethora of cash such as this should be spent. If you can't afford your rent, then you should have bought a smaller house. If you miscalculated the risks for your mortgage, then that blows. However, these were mistakes, and people should learn from their mistakes. But not everyone is even lucky enough to make these kinds of mistakes and have an apartment or house in the first place. So the next time you complain about how someone blew a ton of cash on some completely irrelevant and unnecessary house, dress, surround sound system, whatever, ask yourself: did you really need those last pair of shoes? that tv/computer upgrade? that new jacket? Of course, this does not apply to everyone. That does not however mean that not everyone can do their part. This world is facing some serious issues at present, and these issues are affecting the lives of countless fellow humans. Charity is never overlooked, not matter how small the act.

She'll never work another day in her life. If by chance she does run low on funds, I'm sure there's another dumb, rich guy out there waiting for her.

People have been hating Elin for almost 60K posts. Yahoo article titles purposely want to rile people. She didn't bulldoze a $12M home.

She bought the property for $12M. The home was infested with carpenter ants and termites. The home had to be a small fraction of the $12M. She gave $30,000 of materials to Habitat for Humanity. It would have been more, but the doors and window frames were so bug infested they couldn't take them.

Why hate her? She'll rebuild a home and her property value will immediately go up.

She's also involved in a charity to help children of divorce with problems heal emotionally. She's not the monster I'm reading here.

It's hard to believe what some posters are wishing on her. I don't see what's so awful. Maybe she's getting into buying and reselling properties to make money. Easy money and she's got the money to do it. We can only guess why she bought it.........until another Yahoo Enquirer headline comes out lol

With these misleading article titles Yahoo News should change it's name to Rabble-Rouser News.

The pics are before and after, but not after the house came down, but before it was built. Also, this looks like Jupiter Island not NPB. Which means it's Tigers house he bought and then leveled. She bought in Palm Beach Gardens, not NPB. #$%$ story.

I'm glad someone else notices this too. I kept looking at the photos, and it just add up right to me. Yahoo didn't falsify the story, but the source they got it from sure did.

The house was built in 1932...so I'm not quite sure that could be accurate...

    • pedro  •  Miami, Florida  •  4 months ago
Anyone taking this article seriously should stop at the part "according to TMZ". This article doesn't tell the whole story, like how the house needed to be remodeled, but it would cost more to bring it up to code than knock it down and start over. Or how she donated to Habitat for Humanity.
    • VictoryZone  •  Las Vegas, Nevada  •  4 months ago
I have a hard time believing this. I look at the before and after pics and something does not add up. I think the after photo was taken before the construction begun not the other way around. The foundation is missing, the pathway to the beach is missing, the trees look more mature in the house picture... so the alleged "after" pic is really a "before pic" In Florida you are not allowed to disturb the vegetaion especially along the beach which is a natural habitat for wildlife and fragile echo system. you cant take out the mangroves to get a better view of the ocean...
    • wordz  •  4 months ago
Maybe the divorce states that the children are to reside in the US, with visits to her home in Scandanavia. We don't know all the tenets of the divorce, and why would it be our business anyway? House looks old to me; possible excessive mold/mildew due to being so close to the ocean?

Shane Bacon- Report the news correctly and not your slanted opinion.. Obviously your drinking the Tiger CoolAid. Facts: house was a dump, built in the early 90s, on the Beach which the land is worth the 12MM. What reputable reporter will use TMZ as a source? Get your facts together Bacon, before you get Fried! Winning.

Well, what is the property worth? It may be worth much more than the structure. This may be a good move if the home needed so many repairs that it was cheaper to bulldoze and start over. If she's on a great lot, why not start from scratch. I'm probably the odd man out here considering I've been involved in many home remodels and have a different perspective.
