Miguel Cotto has refrained from going tit-for-tat in the war words against crazy man Ricardo Mayorga. The Nicaraguan junior middleweight did everything he could this week to get under the skin of his Puerto Rican counterpart. Kudos to Cotto for staying out of the mud, but we can't say the same for his trainer Emanuel Steward, who couldn't hold his tongue.

Steward was matter of fact in his call of the fight.

"Miguel Cotto is going to knock out Mayorga. It won't go over four rounds. [Mayorga] has been training since January but he doesn't have the skills or the power," Steward said during the prefight presser.  "You can talk after the fight and Don can come up and waive one flag, a white flag."

      Mayorga went batty, taking off his shirt and standing on a table.{ysp:more}

"You're out of your class. You can pull your shirt off, you can get butt naked up here but it still doesn't mean you're going to win the fight. You won't be talking after Saturday night," Steward said. "You won't be

    • Sergio Martinez was on of the top the world after crushing Paul Williams with a second-round, one-punch knockout. Since that huge coming-out-party back in November, he's disappeared from the boxing landscape. Why?

Now he's back and fighting on an HBO card (10:30 p.m. ET/7:30 p.m. PT) against someone named Sergiy Dzinziruk (37-0, 23 KOs). The Ukrainian is a fine opponent on paper, but certainly not a big name.

Yahoo!'s lead boxing writer Kevin Iole joined us to explain the political reasons behind Martinez-Dzinziruk and that this won't be the last time the Argentinian is facing a  less than optimal opponent. Did we forget to mention Martinez is no longer the WBO middleweight title holder? It's laughable, right? He was stripped by the organization over some ridiculous technicality.

Anyone who thought a more sane Ricardo Mayorga would hit the ground in Las Vegas this week was sadly mistaken. Mayorga is getting long in the teeth, but he still possesses the ability to enrage an opponent. Miguel Cotto was ready to ring his neck today at the final press conference for their Saturday fight.

Some of the classic Mayorga quotes included:

"I'd like to thank Bob Arum for allowing me to eat his sheep on Saturday night."

"I'm either going to knock Cotto down or I'm going to bust him open with a cut on one of [his] two eyes. I guarantee you that's going to happen in the first round. As soon as that bell sounds, I'm going after him. I'm going to kill this guy. I can sense that Cotto has a genuine fear of me. I can see it in his eyes. I can see it in his face."

"Whoever is on Cotto's side, they're going to have to wear black come Sunday. Tell the athletic commission to have 911 really close by the ring Saturday night because Cotto is going to be in bad shape."

Working together to promote this weekend's Miguel Cotto vs. Ricardo Mayorga fight, Bob Arum and Don King are playing nice. Do they really love each other now? Probably not, but there is a mutual respect between the longtime promoters. They also have a common bond when it comes to HBO. They're frustration with the network borders on hatred.

When it comes to televising boxing and the pay-per-view business, the network is the industry leader, but the overall business has slowed and for some is sinking. Why is this happening? The veteran promoters say HBO Sports' leadership is killing the sport.

''They want to get rid of promoters like Bob and me. That's what this is about," King told the Star-Ledger's Jerry Izenberg. "They want to let advisers come to them with a fight and then they hire a promoter at an outrageous price who doesn't put anything into the promotion. no publicity."

Arum agreed that HBO's goal is to be the actual promoter.

"They (HBO Sports) want promoters whom they can

    • The NFL season is in jeopardy, so several players are trying new endeavors. It's time to find some new cash flows.

Jets offensive lineman Matt Slauson is even moving back into his parent's house. Meanwhile, Bengals wide receiver Chad Ochocinco is challenging multiple MMA stars to fights. He's also called out Baltimore Ravens safety Tom Zbikowski.

It sounds like a lot of window dressing.

Zbikowski has gone one step further, he's really going to fight. For the second time professionally, he's stepping into the ring this weekend on the undercard of the Miguel Cotto-Ricardo Mayorga fight.

Zbikowski, who played safety at Notre Dame, said he's been driven to get back in the ring for a long time.

"As a young kid, when I was 19 years old, I dreamed nightly about being able to fight in the Olympics wearing the red, white and blue. You move on, but I'm thankful and I'm blessed that, you know,  I made it to the NFL and I graduated from college," Zbikowski told ESPNRadio1100 in Las Vegas. "My
