Indians adding Jon Garland?

US PresswireJon Garland twice won 18 games in a season back in 2004 and 2005 when he was with the Chicago White Sox. That 2005 season also marked his lone visit to the All-Star Game and a World Series title.

In 2010 he won 14 games for the San Diego Padres and then signed on with the Los Angeles Dodgers last year. His season was cut short, though, by shoulder surgery and he finished with a disappointing 1-5 record with a 4.33 ERA.

Now he's looking to revive his career a bit and the word is that the 32-year-old is headed back to the division where he spent the first eight seasons of his career: the American League Central: The word is that he is working on a deal with the Cleveland Indians, according to Fox Sports.

The Indians, who 15 games behind the Detroit Tigers for second place in the A.L. Central last year, have already added Derek Lowe and Kevin Slowey this offseason.

I guess Cleveland is going to have a 8 man rotation? Jiminez, Lowe, Slowey, Tomlin, Masterston, Garland, Huff, Carrasco, and maybe Carmona or whatever his name is now.

Sounds to me like another 75 win season for the Indians.

It would be hard to imagine Cle overtaking Det. Cle could win as many as 85 or lose as many as 95. My guess is 75-87. Det wins 95. Min wins 81. Chi wins 77. KC wins 75. Cle wins 75.

I don't think a sore-armed has been will help the Indians make any ground on the Tigers, especially with Detroit adding Prince Fielder to their arsenal.

Gain any ground on the Tigers? Are they in first place already? lol. You're a Hoot! What's new over there wherever that is? I'm ready for some baseball over here. Where has your pal been of late? Sure is nice around here when he doesn't show his face. Do you notice that? Or are you too blind to that fact? NO stupid comments from the people who love to torment him. You don't get as harassed as much when he is not around here. Do you notice that too? Honestly, if something happened to him I will say this.....what goes around comes around! This is a much better place without him. And if you don't agree, look at the posts in the last week in here. Big difference.
