Tiger Woods says he won't swing a club for 'at least another month'

Just in case anyone thought Tiger Woods might change his mind about not returning to competitive golf until December, he quashed any ideas of that on Monday evening.

“That’s it; that’s all I’m playing,” Woods said when asked by Golf Channel’s Gary Williams whether he’d consider coming back prior to his own World Challenge event. “And then starting in 2015.”

Woods divulged that he won’t even be hitting a shot on the practice range anytime soon.

“It’s a slow, tedious process. I’m not going to swing a club for at least another month. It’s just about getting stronger, getting more stable, getting more dynamic, getting more explosive. Just getting my body more athletic again. It’s a process. You can’t just hop in and do it all at once. You’ve got to take it step by step.”

The former world No. 1 announced last week that he was withdrawing himself from Ryder Cup consideration. Woods’ missed cut at the PGA Championship ended his regular season, as he failed to qualify for the FedEx Cup playoffs. He missed four months because of March 31 back surgery.
