Tom Brady suffered shoulder strain in Super Bowl

US PresswireNew England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has been getting a lot of grief since his team lost the Super Bowl on Sunday, but Pats fans might want to think back to how many Super Bowls their team had won before he appeared on the roster in 2000: zero.

The Boston Herald reports that Brady, who set a Super Bowl record this year for consecutive completions with 16, finished out Sunday's game with an aggravation of an already existing left shoulder injury (his non-throwing shoulder).

The injury came in the third quarter when New York Giants defensive end Justin Tuck sacked Brady, who left the field briefly while backup Brian Hoyer warmed up, the Herald notes.

The paper points out that Brady only completed seven of his final 15 passes of the game, "displaying uncharacteristic inaccuracy on several throws."

Why the excuse now? The Patriots did not lose this game, the Giants beat them. Fair and Square...nothing more needs to be said. Be a man and suck it up.....

Take it easy....the Giants are one of the luckiest teams in football. Eli just throws up balls without looking and somehow the receiver catches it. If Welker caught that pass the Giants would not be the winners. This is a pass Welker always makes. This is from a longtime Dolphin fan. who actually does not like the Pats. Just calling them like I see them

I didn't see anywhere where TB made excuses because of his left shoulder, nor that his consecutive completion record would have been higher if 3 passes in a row weren't dropped, nor the fact the game was over if Welker catches a perfectly thrown pass, I don't think you will find any excuses anywhere from him...You people that continually degrade him, should sit back and enjoy the run of a Hall of Fame quarterback that continually has his team in the running with no running backs and no secondary..say that with a straight face about any of the other so called "better" quarterbacks

Shoulder strain? I preferred he would have gotten a fractured femur to go along with his tarnished legacy.

Why does the media keep making excuses for these guys as if God did not intervene the Giants could not have beaten them? Hey, people, they got outplayed by a better team. Get over it!

Alright! Brady is a good QB equal to Romo if they switched programs. Yes it seems to be a sorry excuse, But does anyone know who made New England good. Drew B. molded the team. Im tired of hearing how good he is everyday on all the radio and TV stations. Move on!

Is this the latest excuse out of New England. Ha ha ha ha
I'm not saying this because i'm a Giants fan.... but I have never heard so many excuses come from the losing team as I have heard from NE fans. Get over it already. I know what it feels like.. the Giants got blown out by the Ravens. Yes it hurts but I was over it a day later and looked forward to the next season.

That record is a joke. If those passes would of been more than 10 yard then it would be a record. Brady sucks have of those passes dropped were sh ity passes.

was that injury before or after he threw the hail mary at the end of game?....huu, I wonder if it would have been strained if they had won?
    • Kayne Ravenna 3 months ago
I don't think he has once made any fuss about it. This is strictly a media thing. You talk crap about him but, you wouldn't even make it as a 3rd string quarterback for the Rams. He's been dealing with this strain since last season and still made it to the big game. stop being a sore winner. great the giants won Boston sill has atleast 7 chamionships in the last 10 years with 4 teams. New York? not even 2 with over 10.

Nope....typical....NY team fans cannot win graciously....they have to be immature.....putting down the other team...a team that has made it to 5 SB with all with this QB....a team that has 3 rings....and the Giants fans seem to not notice how close the game was....it was a great game played well by both teams!
