St. Louis Rams dealing No. 2 pick?

US PresswireThe Indianapolis Colts have the No. 1 overall pick in this year's draft and are presumably going to select Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck. Former Baylor quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner Robert Griffin III will possibly be picked second, but it remains to be seen exactly which team ends up with that selection.

ESPN reports that the St. Louis Rams, the team currently with that selection, are willing to deal the pick for the right package and multiple teams already have had preliminary discussions with St. Louis about the possibility of trading for the pick.

The site notes that a few teams that will be looking for quarterbacks in the draft include the Cleveland Browns, Washington Redskins, Miami Dolphins and Seattle Seahawks.

Let the rumors come to you. Follow Scoop du Jour on Twitter or Facebook.

I think the Browns would be a good spot for RG3. In a division with great defenses it would be a big advantage to have a QB that can run and throw. Keep the defense honest and force them to use a LB as a spy which could create softer zones or more favorable man defense looks. I think this would be a great fit.

McCoy has a future in Cleveland he just needs a lot of help.

Cleveland needs to move down in this draft and target wr's and offensive linemen and a back up running back McCoy didn't stand a chances last year with no receivers and the blocking was horrible Hillis will benefit from a better line to.
I agree give McCoy a chance just to many holes on this team for a single player to be focused on.

If we keep trading down (downgrading talent), we will keep picking in the Top 5.I'm done with that. Hopefully H&H are too.

We can't be afraid to pick a potential "superstar" because of what past regimes have done with their high picks (and the way they have developed them).

      No guts, no glory right?

Sure, no guts no glory, but without the o-line or wrs they will be bad again. Cribbs is like hester which means that if he is developed as a wr then awesome he is exposive, but i do not see that happening for at least another year. Massiquoi is not a premiere wr, but maybe a third or fourth option. With Little there and another wr then mccoy has weapons w/ a hillis (not sure if the resigned him), Blackmon? or an oline. The dfense needs work to though so maybe trading down isnt crazy for the right price.

I agree the Browns need to much to pin their hopes on RG3 he will end up like alot of young QB's shell shocked and ruined.
The Browns have a good QB to build around and this is a deep draft for the most part be good to see the Browns make the most of it with a good number of picks.
I like the way the defence is looking and if they can get some help on the O-line and some WR's they could be looking at .500 this year and better the following year. But it will take some trading and building up of some picks to do so.

Cleveland should NOT give up any draft positions or picks just to get Griffing. They need way too much help in many, many areas. Let McCoy deal with it another year while the team builds in other areas. Washington and Miami definitely have teams that could adpat more readily to Griffin on a quicker basis and have him successful in a short period of time.

ok so pass up on a franchise qb and suck for 10 more years, good call. thats exactly why you're NOT a gm.

If Cleveland isn't going to hold onto Hillis, I think taking Richardson is their best option. Pairing Kalil with Joe Thomas would probably be the best option if the Browns plan to franchise Hillis, or somehow hold onto him.

i dont know jags, i dont think mccoy is all that bad, he has nobody to throw to.

Cleveland needs talent upgrades at too many positions. They must want to grab RG3 to get headlines and sell more jerseys.
    • wol l 2 months ago
Jersey sales are split up between all teams so rg3 will be split into all 32 teams same as tebow and any other player

Bradford can't get the ball to ANY receiver lying on his back. Kalil and any of the other highly rated offensive linemen are a much higher priority, especially in a Jeff Fisher offense. "Hotshot" wide receivers come out every year. I don't think Blackmon is "the man" although he is twice as good as any they've got now.

Definately agree about the linemen, but lloyd is a decent #1 so a rookie drafted in the second or third gives the rams more options at the wr

Haha the guy from Texas says the Cowboys will get him, and the guy from Ohio says the Browns. Shutup already about your favorite team, no one cares.
  • dean  •  Beaumont, Texas  •  2 months ago
RG3 would be a better fit with the Cowboys.. Because whether they want to believe it or not Romeo is not gonna get them there.. Its time the team makes some changes throughout the line up..
  • Gabriel Rockman  •  2 months ago
It better be a good package if it makes the Rams move down and possibly miss getting Blackmon. The Rams WRs are one of their weakest points. If the Rams move down, hopefully they can get Kalil, Claiborne, Blackmon, or Richardson with the pick they get, along with getting another pick or two or a good young player or two.

RG3 is a smart kid, however when you interview other QB's thay are smart too. I'm sure RG3 will be a fine QB for a long time but the Browns need to keep their two #1's and get 2 starters. That plus the book is still out on McCoy who is smart, talented and also speaks well. Every year the media, people get enanored with some player then you see other drafted players excel at their positions as well and say, "Wow, we could have had him". Now the Browns have the opportunity to get 2 of those Wow players.

This offseason would have been a lot more interesting had St. Louis ended up with the first pick.

he fits what the Eagles have had for the last 2 QBs. Pick and sit behind Vick for 2-3 years. Eagels swap picks and the Rams can not say no to getting a pro bowl cornerback in #22

I could have written this aricle months ago when it was put in place that the Rams were going to get the #2 pick. They have their quarterback of the future, so they'll more than likely trade their pick and get some tasty draft picks afterwards. If they can get Brandon Lloyd to stay one more year I say load on up OL! Get some protection for Bradford. Their WR's aren't great but they are good enough, especially with Stephen Jackson in the backfield, to get them through the season and if they want to upgrade they can probably pick some good ones up of FA, reggie wayne won't be a colt much longer. Bradford is still young, so they can wait another year before drafting WR's.

Rg3 is the quarterback of the future. I like colt don't get me wrong but is a super talent that you can build around in the future. Cleveland needs rg3
