Ravens looking to extend Ray Rice and Joe Flacco

US PresswireBaltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice will be an unrestricted free agent this offseason and quarterback Joe Flacco is entering the final year of his rookie contract. Owner Steve Bisciotti is promising that the pair won't be moving to new locations before next season.

"Ray and Joe Flacco will be part of this football team next year, guaranteed," Bisciotti said Wednesday, according to the Baltimore Sun. The team is planning to try and sign them both to extensions this offseason, the paper reports.

Rice, who had 1,364 rushing yards and 15 touchdowns last season, will be given the franchise tag if an extension can't be worked out with him, according to the Sun.

"Ray is an unrestricted free agent, and, obviously, the franchise [tag] has to come into play," Bisciotti said, the Sun reports. "With Joe, it doesn't. We're just going to sit down and start grinding out the contract terms."

I believe they should extend both of them, but also take care of the players on the team. I believe that they should also start looking at quarterbacks also. Joe is good, but four years in a row and still now superbowl. They are doing the right things, but something has to change. Everyone is making super money, let's get a Superbowl!

Why would you extend Ray Lewis? Yes, he is great but at some time he has to retire.
