Channing Crowder returning but not to Dolphins

US PresswireAfter six seasons and 429 tackles with the Miami Dolphins, linebacker Channing Crowder was released last summer. He promptly retired to be with his wife, who was 37 weeks pregnant at the time.

Now, fully rested after a season without a team, the 28-year-old is looking to get back into the NFL and will talk to any team but the Dolphins, according to NFL.com.

"I wouldn't go on a team with [Dolphins GM] Jeff Ireland," Crowder said, according to the site. "I'm not very confident in him. He doesn't know what he's doing in my opinion. He's real disrespectful, he doesn't know how to deal with people, and the whole Dez Bryant [situation] kind of showed to the world what he's about."

Bryant, of course, was the guy that Ireland asked if his mother had been a prostitute, which Ireland apologized for later.

Crowder went on to say that he wouldn't choose to return to Miami, the site notes. "I would have to say it's the only team I don't want to play for," he said, NFL.com reports.

In his final season with the Fins, Crowder played in 11 games and had 39 tackles.

There is nothing special about him, or his game. Not sure why he warrants any sort of attention.

I know that Channing is bitter,.but what about the fans?,.Doesnt he think that we are maybe a bit bitter as well about him being lukewarm? If he played as much as he talks he would be in the HALL OF FAME.

Crowder should go to either Giants to boost their already feisty defense or Jets. I prefer the Giants so we could go to next year SB XLVII again as back to back CHAMPION!

Channing Crowder is a solid player, but he is not a playmaker AT ALL

I don't give a rats behind about the Dez and his Mom issue. Sick of hearing about it. I'm sure that every team wants to know everything about every player they're considering to draft and their background, especially if they're considering investing dozens of millions of dollars and a 1st round pick in them.
Crowder is a disgruntled ex player because the Dolphins didn't want to pay him $8 million dollars for the last year of his contract. They couldn't trade him so I guess no other team did either. If he had played better he would have earned his $8 Million and the only crying would be coming from the craddle.

How in the world would his mothers profession change how he plays football? You might be tired of hearing about it but why did he even assume she was a prostitute? Why not ask a more general regular human being question like "What does your mother do for a living?" and leave it at that. He clearly tried to get Dez to react to something disrespectful about his mother.

Are you seriously defending Jeff Ireland?!? The guy is a joke. I would have preferred that he got fired over Sparano. The day Miami fires him will be the day that team gets somewhere.

The Dez thing was more of an indictment to how clueless he is rather than him being an #$%$ The funny thing is, is I feel like he runs the team like a fan, but all the fans hate him! Anyway, we might get lucky with all the changes. I would love to see the Fins in playoffs consistently like during my childhood.

I'm a Dolphins fan, and it's actually nice to see someone calling out Jeff Ireland.. he is one of the most irresponsible, rude, ignorant, if not the most - owner in football... nevermind owner.. he's the dredge of the earth.. you know what... nevermind just owners.. he's one of the most horrible people in or associated with the NFL..

Uh, I hate to burst your bubble, although I agree with you 100%, but Jeff Ireland is the general manager not the owner. Stephen Ross is the owner.

ummmm Channing, we as Dolphin fans DONT want you back anyways! Every single game I watched a Wide Receiver knock you on your rear end. You are softer than Cottenelle. May want to give Terrell Owens a call and see if he needs a BACK UP Special Teams player for his Midget league football team....
