    Ravens’ Ray Lewis not retiring

US PresswireLinebacker Ray Lewis has been with the Baltimore Ravens since being drafted in the first round back in 1996. The 36-year-old was quick to let reporters know Sunday that his team's loss to the New England Patriots in the AFC title game doesn't close any doors for him.

"Is this my last game as a Raven? Absolutely not," Lewis said, according to the Baltimore Sun. "Let me answer that question before somebody asks it."

Lewis was out for four games earlier in the season due to a toe injury, but he was really back in form for the game against the Pats, tallying 12 tackles.

"God has never made a mistake. Ever," Lewis said, according to the Sun. "Somebody is going to feel like this tomorrow, and somebody is going to feel like this in two weeks in the Super Bowl. And whomever wins it, that's their year. That's a fact, and there ain't nothing nobody else can do about it. That's the irony of sports. There is a winner, there's a loser, and when you lose, you've got to suck it up like a man and say 'You know what, Father? If it's your will, so be it. As a man you got to keep moving, and a team keep building, remembering this taste."

He was shown as the weakness during the past three weeks they played. over 60% of passes went to backs and receivers coming off the backfield because he no longer has the speed to cover them. This will only be a bigger weakness a year later. Good luck Ravens.

Ray is a murderer and a thug, the "God routine" not withstanding and guess what, God has better things to do than get involved with the outcome of football games.

I'm not a Ray hater but he looked a little slow covering those tight ends of the Pats? Sometimes you have to know when enough is enough!

I'm a patriot fan but R.L. is a monster. He doesn't have the speed but he has the mind set. The Ravens play the best defense in the league, PERIOD! The secondary is also one of the best on coverage schemes. Make no mistake about it, the Patriots were probably luck they didn't have to go into ot. There's an old saying from wild world of sports, "the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat. It cuts both ways!

Why shouldn't Ray-Ray keep playing? Besides, everyday not spent in the Atlanta Pen, where he rightfully should be, is a good day.

Everyone has good and bad in em you can place hate towards a man because its your right, but All in All.. His God has dealt with him... so many injustices have served many and no matter what happens, Faith goes along way even IF you commit murder Its no ones right to judge others Hatred gets in the way of too much and causes someone else too hurt It could be Lewis's calling that god wants him to keep "not Getting what he wants".. winning the SB But when they do, I am behind the Ravens Go Ravens

I'm glad he's coming back, the window is still open for a SB on this team. That being said, the Ravens need to draft a ILB/MLB high to spell him more often. He can still lay the wood and his leadership skills are unquestionable BUT the defense looked a little slower once he came back. He might not like it but he has to accept that while he should get a 2nd ring he might need to take a reduced role in getting it. I've already seen that Arizona State LB mocked to the Ravens and I'm sure Ozzie would love Hightower on this team if he could get him. Come back strong next year, GO RAVENS!!!

I'm sorry ppl but if you don't like monster hits from an All Pro LB regardless of his name, then go put on make-up and watch womens soccer. Ray has leadership skills, character, religion, gives back to the community, and he gives us the big hits we true football fans crave for every sunday.

Ray is a winner on and off the field. He knows the game, plays it as good as anyone, has the respect of his teamates and respects all who can play the game. He covers the holes and receivers better than anyone who played the middle. L.T. had the same equipment.

this guy still has a lot of football left in him. I would have him on my team til he decides to leave and retire.
