David Garrard ready to return in April?

US PresswireWhen quarterbacks kept getting hurt last season, David Garrard's phone kept ringing. Unfortunately for the former Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback, he was dealing with his own surgery for a herniated disk in his back.

Soon, though, that won't be an issue. ESPN Chicago is hearing that Garrard will be fully healthy in April and ready to return to the NFL.

He will join the list of free-agent quarterbacks for teams to select from that includes Matt Flynn, Alex Smith, Jason Campbell, Kyle Orton, Drew Brees, Vince Young, Chad Henne and Byron Leftwich.

The 33-year-old Garrard has thrown for 89 touchdowns and 54 interceptions in his eight seasons with the Jags. He threw for  16,003 yards, gained 1,746 rushing yards and scored 17 times while running the ball.

"He gained 16,003 receiving yards for the team along with 1,746 rushing yards and scored 17 times while running the ball." Wow...over 16,000 receiving yards?! AMAZING...especially for a QB!

Yahoo sucks! No proofreading at all! Yahoo writers are worse at their jobs than GW was at his job as president.

He'll make a decent backup for someone.

Garrard is a sure-fire Hall of Famer with over 16,000 receiving yards as a QB.

He had his best season last season. Every other team needed him, his team dumped him. I hope he found that magic he had when leftwich was on the team. I hope he watch film before he went to dunkin donuts. He's that fighter who may have one good fight left. Mcnabb, I mean garrard will get another shot, should be interesting.
