Larry Bird unsure of future with Pacers

US PresswireIndiana Pacers president of basketball operations Larry Bird has a year-to-year agreement with team owner Herb Simon, who has said Bird can stick around for as longs he wants. Just like last year, the NBA Hall of Famer isn't exactly sure what he's going to do this summer, according to the Indianapolis Star.

"People close to him say he constantly changes his mind on what he wants to do," the paper reports.

"I will decide that in July," the 55-year-old Bird said, the paper reports.

The current incarnation of the team that Bird has constructed is third in the Eastern Conference with a 12-5 record, behind only the Chicago Bulls and Miami Heat.

I hope Larry Legend stays on. I think he has done a terrific job managing the cap and putting together a team that has good chemistry with a mix of veteran leadership and youth. They are fun and exciting to watch. Great job Larry, GO PACERS!!!!!!!

He's suffered through the rough times, he needs to stick around and reap the rewards of what he's put together. Larry stuck to his game plan while other teams were snapping up free agents haphazardly (see Knicks).

Larry Bird is arguably the best player/coach/NBA executive combination in NBA history. If Red Auerbach had played, Jerry West had coached, or Bill Russell had been a GM, maybe they would join him. Am I missing anyone?

Did Larry write the first three comments. He is bad, bad , bad. Always talking about leaving , not about the team or players or getting better. All players the same type, no super star. Don't say Granger is. Only a cry baby like Bird. Bird talks about leaving, leave. Walsh is ready to come back.
