Rangers trading Koji Uehara to Toronto?

US PresswireReliever Koji Uehara may be headed out of the Lone Star State. The Texas Rangers have discussed trading him to the Toronto Blue Jays, according to reports from Japan, MLB.com reports. Uehara's contract, which has him making $4 million next season, allows him to block trades to six teams.

Uehara joined the Rangers at the trading deadline after being dealt from the Baltimore Orioles, where he went 1-1 with 13 holds and a 1.72 ERA. His stint in Texas wasn't as successful. He went 1-2 there with a 4.00 ERA. He made three appearances in the postseason and let in five runs, which earned him a suitable-for-framing ERA of 33.75. He was left off the roster for the World Series. After all, the batting average against him in the postseason was .556. Ouch.

Since joining the bigs in 2009, the 36-year-old has a 5-9 record with a 3.13 ERA and 188 strikeouts.
