If press reports are to be believed, Jose Mourinho will be a regular fixture on the touchline at Old Trafford next season.

The Independent are among those who claim a £15 million-a-year ($22 million) deal has already been agreed between the Special One and Manchester United.

Many Red Devils fans are delighted with the prospect of being led by Mou – and it is easy to see why based on his past achievements.

  • How Leicester City can go the distance and win the Premier League

Ryan Bailey at FC Yahoo 4 days ago

In sports, the most obvious outcome isn’t always the reality. Nowhere was this proved more than a weekend where the Super Bowl favorite Carolina Panthers failed to show up and where Leicester City gave us one of the most memorable moments in Premier League history with a 3-1 win at Manchester City.

Many fans are waiting for the Foxes to fall away and cede their place at the top of the table to one of the more traditional contenders. But in this crazy English top-flight season, it stands to reason that Claudio Ranieri’s men can go the distance.

The video above provides some key stats and factors to convince you to get on board with the Leicester Fiesta. Take a look and be sure to leave your comments below.

  • Chelsea vs. Manchester United preview: Hiddink's unbeaten streak to continue

Ryan Bailey at FC Yahoo 8 days ago

Less than six weeks after they played out a stalemate at Old Trafford, Chelsea will be taking Manchester United at Stamford Bridge this Sunday.

Not so long ago, this would have been a mouth-watering title clash – in this crazy season, however, it's merely a bottom-half side hosting a club that's struggling to earn a European berth.

[ Premier League: Scores and Schedule | Current Standings | Teams ]

Chelsea's recent record against United is good: The last time the Blues came away from this fixture empty-handed was October 2012. Yet Louis van Gaal's side seems to have found some focus – and their scoring boots – in recent matches, so this might not be another goalless 90 minutes for the Red Devils.

  • Premier League Matchday 24 preview: Stoke might cost Louis Van Gaal his job

Ryan Bailey at FC Yahoo 11 days ago

Everybody loves a midweek Premier League run of games. On Tuesday and Wednesday, we will be treated to the reverse fixtures from Boxing Day: Manchester United will be trying to stop Stoke from taking six points off the season, Arsenal will be seeking revenge on Southampton and Leicester will have their title credentials tested by Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool.

These are our picks for games to watch on Matchday 24, as all three are capable of delivering upsets to the   traditional   favourite. In particular, a poor performance from Manchester United against a Stoke side looking to bounce back from cup heartache could have very serious implications for Louis Van Gaal.

  • Atlético Madrid might upset Barcelona this weekend

Ryan Bailey at FC Yahoo 15 days ago

Barcelona and Atletico Madrid currently sit atop the Spanish Primera Division with 48 points each and only goal difference keeping them apart.

The two Iberian behemoths – who have claimed six of the last seven league titles between them – will meet at the Camp Nou on Saturday, with plenty on the line in a title race of extremely fine margins.

The common consensus is that Barcelona is unstoppable right now, but if anyone can blunt the world’s best attacking trio, it’s one of the world’s best defenses.

I explain why I believe Atleti will leave Catalunya with at least a point in the video above. Give your thoughts in the comments!

  • Premier League Matchday 23: Arsenal have no excuse not to win the league

Ryan Bailey at FC Yahoo 19 days ago

The last few rounds of Premier League games have been truly excellent and Matchday 23 brought us bundles of entertainment. Sure, there were terrible defending and questionable management decisions, but the entertainment value remains!

Arsenal appeared to be in the driver’s seat for the title before facing its bogey team Chelsea on Sunday, and after a 1-0 loss at the Emirates, the Gunners sit in third. But are they any less likely to win the league now? Absolutely not. The Premier League trophy is still anyone's, but Arsenal still have no excuse not to win it.

As league leaders we cannot write off Leicester City, and Manchester City – despite its defensive flaws – are still very much in the mixer. Tottenham Hotspur, meanwhile, have its best chance in decades to seize a league title.

To quote the great lyricist of our generation Ellie Goulding, anything could happen!

  • Arsenal vs. Chelsea preview: Gunners won’t have the blues on Sunday

Ryan Bailey at FC Yahoo 22 days ago

This weekend, Arsenal face off against the team that have given them plenty of issues in recent Premier League history: Chelsea.

Arsene Wenger won’t get the opportunity to finally get one over his old nemesis Jose Mourinho, but his Gunners are in good stead to end their terrible run of form against the reigning champions.

However, Chelsea have a long and storied history of taking points from Mr Wenger, and Guus Hiddink was responsible for the Gunners’ biggest ever home league defeat at The Emirates back in 2009.

  • Premier League Matchday 22: How does Louis van Gaal still have a job?

Ryan Bailey at FC Yahoo 25 days ago

According to the most recent figures, around 213,000 people are unemployed in Manchester. Not one of them, however, is named Louis van Gaal.

The Dutchman is the bookies’ favorite to be the next Premier League manager to depart, but he has somehow survived until Matchday 21 in the hot seat at Manchester United. After yet another insipid performance – albeit it a 1-0 win over the Red Devils' biggest rivals – it's hard to understand how the former Bayern Munich boss is still in gainful employment.

Honestly, what will it take for this man to be replaced?

Elsewhere in the latest round of Premier League games, we saw daylight robbery at Stamford Bridge, points on the board for some struggling sides and some goal-heavy encounters.

  • Premier League matchday 21: Key takeaways

Ryan Bailey at FC Yahoo 1 mth ago

Every so often, we need a reminder of why the Premier League is such a global draw. On match day 21—a matter of hours after the English top flight was shunned at the Ballon d’Or awards—we were given that reminder.

On Tuesday evening, Newcastle played out a thrilling 3-3 draw against Manchester United. The Red Devils shattered their reputation for low scoring football with this throwback to the good ol’ days of the 1990s, while Newcastle proved that they are not as feckless as they led us to believe in the first half of the season.

The following evening, another 3-3 barnstormer came our way in the form of Arsenal’s visit to Liverpool. Heavy rain couldn’t dampen a raucous atmosphere and a game that gave us brilliant goals and plenty of drama.

FC Yahoo’s Ryan Bailey has your key takeaways for Premier League round 21. Give us your thoughts in the comments!

  • Thierry Henry and Michael Bradley appear in crazy MLS Ferris Bueller tribute

Ryan Bailey at Dirty Tackle 1 yr ago

Yesterday,  we didn't know what would happen if some of the biggest names in American soccer were combined with a John Hughes 1980s classic. Now, we have a pretty good idea.

The handsome, erudite and modest folks at KICK TVhave produced Mike Magee's Day Off , an attentive and utterly bonkers tribute to Matthew Broderick's seminal romp Ferris Bueller's Day Off .

In the clip, Chicago Fire striker Magee bunks training to get up to no good in Omar Gonzalez's dad's car with his girlfriend Sydney Leroux.

During the 2013 MLS MVP's day of leisure we also see cameo appearances from the likes of Thierry Henry, Michael Bradley, Hope Solo, Judah Friedlander and everybody's favorite manager who sounds like a stadium, Bruce Arena.

A professional athlete deliberately skipping training is not usually a laughing matter — just ask Adriano — but this high jinx appears to be the exception that proves the rule.

See more, including Gonzalez's excellent impression of Bueller's friend Cameron on the phone, in the outtakes clip...
