Recently, a man confessed to me that he's considering giving up on his current favorite team, and either adopting a new team, or forgetting about his NFL fanhood all together. I don't believe in "changing favorite teams." I don't believe it's something that an honorable person would do. So I was interested in this man's thought process, and asked if he'd agree to answer some questions and let us follow along with his decision-making process. He has agreed, under the condition of anonymity. We'll call him "Big Al." His favorite team, up until now, has been the Dallas Cowboys.

It's hard to reconcile for me rooting for a team owned by Jerry Jones. He seems to make only two types of hires: he either hires cronies and yes-men who will do whatever he says without challenging him on his questionable personnel moves, or the rare times when he does hire good football men to run the organization, he runs them out of town within a few years
