    • Rock, rap and rear naked chokes: What is your entrance song?

At every MMA event, from unregulated backyard brawls to marquee UFC events, fighters walk into a song of their choosing. (Unless Dana White vetoes it.) Some of the songs will knock you down, some are expected, some are just plain weird. My personal favorite is "El Matador," by Los Fabulosos Cadillacs, used a few times by Roger Huerta.

Entrance songs for fighters are a bit tougher to choose than, say, batting music in baseball. The whole song has to be good, and has to get the arena excited for your mere presence. It can't be just a few bars of a decent song. If you had to make that long walk to the cage, what would you choose? We asked that question of MMA writers, and you might be surprised by some of their picks.

Dave Meltzer, Yahoo! Sports: Ring of Fire, Johnny Cash

Ariel Helwani, Versus.com and MMA Fanhouse: "I would pick Biggie's "Victory." I used to listen to it before every one of my high school basketball games and it really got my blood going. If someone else on the card

    • 'The Ultimate Fighter' recap: 'Put the tooth on ice'

What the hell happened to Bisping is the most pressing question of this week. He didn't show for Dean Amasinger's fight, and of course, Amasinger lost. Amasinger may have some serious abandonment issues to work through after that. The other tough question is UK fighter Martin Stapleton somehow GSP's long lost British cousin? Luckily, we won't have to dwell for too long on those questions as there are two fights tonight. Huzzah!

Back at the house, Jason Pierece made fun of Cameron Dollar's discussion of how to get out of a triangle choke, which Cameron overhears and then complains about how the house does things to you. Really? Did a closet door just slam you in the face? He then says that he knows he will be picked next for the fight.

He's right! Martin Stapleton (UK) vs. Cameron Dollar (USA) will be the first fight of the night. Dollar does not look happy about the match-up, and says that he got himself into this situation, and he is going to get himself back out. That isn't

    • Shaquille O'Neal: hoopster, twitter fan, MMA fighter?

It seems that everywhere, people are catching on to the benefits of learning mixed martial arts. Everyone includes basketball superstar Shaquille O'Neal, who is spending his off-season training at Jonathan Burke's Gracie Gym in Orlando.

O'Neal, who is listed at 7'2" and 325 lbs., goes by his old nickname at the gym, Diesel. He's been training with Burke for 10 years, where he does the full gamut of MMA, boxing, jiu-jitsu, Muay Thai and wrestling. Cagewriter spoke with Burke who said that O'Neal is in great shape, and loves the nature of the training.

"We can work drills 20 times through, and he works his tail off on everything," Burke said. "He has way more talent with this stuff than people would imagine."

O'Neal's specialty? Much like Clubber Lang, it's pain. Shaq-fu is said to have some killer knees as well as a phenomenal rear naked choke. He isn't the only athlete to try MMA, as former Redskins wide receiver Michael Westbrook is now a jiu-jitsu player who won his only MMA match.

    • White says thanks, but no thanks to Roy Jones vs. Anderson Silva

You have to admire Roy Jones Jr.'s chutzpah. The boxer is 40 years old, has never fought in a sanctioned MMA bout, and now he wants to face one of the sport's top fighters in the Octagon. Anderson Silva, who has expressed interest in boxing, is all for the fight with Jones, but the president of the company who holds Silva under contract? Not so much.

"You won't see a Silva versus Jones fight while Silva is under contract with me," Dana White said Tuesday. "I don't want to say anything bad about Roy Jones, I like Roy Jones and was a fan of his, but he mattered like fifteen years ago. He's not anywhere near the best boxer in the world. He must've spent all his money."

You can't blame White. There is already a fight set up for Silva in just a few months, a light heavyweight bout with former UFC champion Forrest Griffin. Beyond that, contenders Demian Maia and Nate Marquardt are waiting in limbo for their shot at the crown.

A Jones/Silva fight may be exciting for one night, but what

    • Does Germany want UFC 99?

UFC 99 is already hardly the most popular event for fight fans in the U.S. The card, which has a main event of Rich Franklin vs. Wanderlei Silva, is lackluster compared to the lineups of UFC 100, 101 and 102. Add to that the fights are in Germany, so they will air on a Saturday afternoon, and you can see why fans aren't running to their phones to order this event.

As it turns out, not everyone in Germany is overly excited about the fights coming to town, either.

An open dispute erupted when the Cologne City Council discussed the upcoming fight card. Event organizers claim that the council is hell bent on foiling the upcoming event. "MMA is not a sport because it legitimizes death and serious injury. The only aim is to destroy your opponent," said Manfred Wolf, a Cologne council member. "I personally find it disgusting ... Here one finds the lowest human instincts." ... The City Councilor has made it clear that is does not want to hold a major mixed martial arts event because of the

    • 'Next Anderson Silva' back at home with mom

During the last season of "The Ultimate Fighter," Phillipe Nover set himself apart early. His overwhelming, all-around style helped him walk easily through his competition on the show, and impress the UFC. Dana White called him "the next Anderson Silva," and he was all but crowned the winner of "The Ultimate Fighter."

That was until he lost to Efrain Escudero in the show's finale. Now, while getting ready for his first post-TUF fight against Kyle Bradley, Nover is refocused on fighting, so much so that he's changed his living situation. He rented out his house, and he is back living with his mom.

"It's definitely a spartan lifestyle . . . it's basically just been the life of a fighter - eat, sleep, train. Eat, sleep, train," he said.

Having your mom tell you to wash the dishes or take out the garbage can certainly instill a healthy dose of humility. For Nover, that was absolutely what was needed after the ebullient praise that came his way during "The Ultimate Fighter."

    • It's business time for WEC champ Mike Brown

Cage Potato brings us video of WEC featherweight champion Mike Brown getting ready for training, and he is wearing business socks. As in, the argyle socks you wear with a suit, not the kind of socks you'd normally wear to weather a beating at American Top Team. Brown has some important business to take care of, as he is defending his belt on June 7 against Urijah Faber.

Do you want to ask Mike Brown what sort of socks go best with his championship belt? Or would you like to ask Urijah Faber how he gets his hair to be so shiny? You're in luck! Cagewriter will host a chat with Faber and Brown this Friday at 2 p.m. ET. Start thinking of questions for the two fighters, and log on this Friday.
