    • Create-a-Caption: Jose Aldo only reads it for the articles

Urijah Faber was everywhere in Sacramento on Thursday. In fact, it was officially "Urijah Faber Day," proclaimed by Mayor Kevin Johnson.

(Hey, remember when the Bulls smoked the Suns in the finals to win their third straight championship? The good old days. Of course, Johnson is now spending his time as the mayor of Sacramento and John Paxson is practicing chokeholds on his employees, so who is the winner in the long run?)

Even Faber's opponent this weekend, WEC featherweight champ Jose Aldo, got caught up in the hype, taking a second from photo shoots and press conferences to read up on the "California Kid."

(Paxson has the rings. Johnson has to deal with budget meetings. Paxson is the winner.)

So, what is Aldo thinking? Share your caption in the comments, and read on for winners of our last create-a-caption.

    • Njokuani looking for more KO magic in bout with Roller

The last time we saw Anthony Njokuani, he was knocking out Chris Horodecki, who had unwisely turned his back to the tall, lanky WEC lightweight. That TKO won Njokuani a knockout of the night bonus and a spot on the WEC's first pay-per-view against Shane Roller on Saturday.

Njokuani is used to getting those bonuses. He is 3-1 in the WEC. All three wins come by knockout, and each of those knockouts have earned KO of the night. What does Njokuani do with that extra cash?

"The only special thing I've done with them is paid the bills. Trying to save and take care of my mom," Njokuani told Cagewriter. He said that one of the problems in holding onto the money is the publicity that comes with the $10,000 bonuses. "Everyone knows about it, so you can't hide that. It's like trying to hide a cookie from a fat man. Can't do it."

In his bout with Roller, Njokuani will be working for more than another bonus. With a win, he is hoping he's earned a shot at the WEC lightweight title.

      "I think it

    • Quick wins from Hornbuckle, Pitbull mark this week in Bellator

The Bellator welterweight and featherweight semfinals took shape in Connecticut on Thursday night, with three fighters walking away with first round wins and the fourth picking up a razor-close split decision.

Dan Hornbuckle, who made headlines with a highlight-reel head-kick knockout of Akihiro Gono in in Sengoku, showed that he knows more than one way to win when he ended his bout with Tyler Stinson by submission. Hornbuckle secured a triangle choke at 2:03 in the first round and will move onto the semifinals in the welterweight tourney.

Patricio "Pitbull" Freire defended himself from William Romero's upkicks by grabbing a leg and locking in a heel hook. He barely broke a sweat in securing the submission at 2:01 in the first. Next, Freire will face Georgi Karakhanyan in the semifinals of the featherweight tourney.

Steve Carl, an Army veteran, eked out a win over Brett Cooper. The two engaged in a back and forth battle that featured Carl's wrestling skills and both fighters' standup

    • Nick Diaz talks about the brawl, GSP and triathlons

Nick Diaz is in Las Vegas to race in the Xterra Triathlon, but before his run/bike/swim, he took a few minutes to talk with Cagewriter about Saturday night's brawl, future opponents and why he is a triathlete.

Cagewriter: Were you surprised by the reaction to that fight or that so many people have been blaming your team?

Nick Diaz: I don't know. I haven't been paying too much attention to it. I've been busy. I'm in Vegas and here to do a triathlon this weekend. I'm focused on that, but it sucked. Everybody seemed pretty mad. They were all pointing fingers at us. The guy jumped in the cage.

What did you think when Jason "Mayhem" Miller came into the cage?

I didn't see it until he was already in Jake's face. He pushed Jake, and then he just runs back at all of us. Everybody's like, "Oh, you jumped this guy, you fought this guy," but I didn't know we were hitting him, because I was getting hit and people were grabbing me.

If you watch the tape, this guy backs up really quick and then

    • 'The Ultimate Fighter' 11: Everybody hates Yager

Just a few episodes in to the eleventh season of "The Ultimate Fighter," a villain has started to emerge. Will he make his full appearance tonight?

The narrator tells us that there are two bouts in this one episode, which means less time for them to make fun of each other and more time for the fighters to actually fight each other. Excellent.

During the last bout between Hammortree and Tavares, Jamie Yager ruffled his team's feathers by cheering for Tavares, who was fighting Hammortree. Nick Ring confronted Yaeger on this, but Yaeger didn't seem to pay much attention to him.

As it turns out, Yager has started his own team, "The Minority Report," which consist of Tavares, Kyle Noke and Kris McCray. Yager has clearly ticked off many people within the house, so this drama is likely to continue.

But who cares about that when there are fights to announce! Team Liddell is 2-0, so Chuck again has the pick for the next matchup. He picks Rich Attonito (Team Liddell) vs. Kyacey Uscola (Team

    • Jim vs. the Volcano: Thomas in for Wall in Bellator welter tourney

If you haven't heard about the volcanic cloud that blanketed northern Europe and disrupted travel there for days, you must be living under a rock. If you are under that rock, Bellator welterweight Ryan Thomas is right there with you.

That cloud of ash that grounded flights prevented British fighter "Judo" Jim Wallhead from making it to the U.S. in time for his scheduled Bellator bout with Jacob McClintock. Bellator then asked Thomas -- the fighter on the losing end of a controversial bout with Ben Askren last Thursday -- to step in for Wall. His response: what volcano?

"The first thing I thought when my trainer called and said I was getting back into the tournament because of a volcano, I thought he was messing with me," said Thomas (10-4). "I had no idea there was even a volcano that erupted."

Forgive Thomas for being a little behind the times on current events. The man did just lose.

The man who was on the winning end of that decision was happy to hear about Thomas' second chance.

    • MMA Marketplace: Faber's walk-in kit vs. Aldo's samurai shirt

Though WEC featherweight champ Jose Aldo is a huge favorite coming into his bout with former champ Urijah Faber, there is one way that Faber already has Aldo beat: the sheer volume of items that will be a part of his walkout at the WEC's first pay-per-view this Saturday.

Form Athletics has put together an entire walkout kit for Faber that includes a shirt, a hoodie, two hats and two pairs of shorts.

Compare to that Aldo's shirt. Though it is only one shirt, it's one that has a samurai on it, and it costs $34.99, less than an average walkout shirt. Samurai + reasonable price = Aldo is the winner, which is the likely outcome on Saturday as well.

    • The UFC sneaks its way on to Strikeforce broadcast

On Saturday night's Strikeforce fights, the UFC still managed to show up during the commercials. In between the many ads for Full-Tilt Poker and Geico, two UFC stars got some screen time.

After the first round of the first bout, CBS had time to show one 30-second ad. What was it? The Under Armour ad featuring UFC welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre. The spot concluded with GSP yelling, "I will protect this house!"

Not only that, but HD Net ran several ads touting its comprehensive coverage of MMA. One of the ads gave a clip of the new show "Fighting Words with Mike Straka," and Straka's first guest, UFC president Dana White. In the ad, White said, "I'm the dream maker."

Unfortunately, that ad money may not have been well spent. The ratings were down for "Saturday Night Fights," and did not come close to winning their time slot.
