    • Georges St-Pierre snaps back at Nick Diaz calling him ‘pampered’ in UFC 158 call

(Getty)When Chael Sonnen and Anderson Silva were promoting their fight last year, there was a conference call when Silva stopped being the nice guy. After listening to Sonnen rip Silva and talk about how he was going to win for months, Silva snapped. As he had not done previously, Silva talked about the many ways he was going to beat up Sonnen.

Welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre has finally had his Silva Snap Moment. On the UFC 158 press call, Nick Diaz talked about how pampered GSP is.

"I work hard regardless, through this [expletive], but I don’t have people toweling me off and handing me water bottles left and right, and getting my training paid for me," Diaz said. "I’ve got to do all that [expletive] on my own, and every day I know it, and that’s why I know I have to go that much harder, and concentrate, and do that much more, because I don’t have people taking care of my money or financial tax obligations, or what have you … I’m too busy fighting all your fights, I’m too busy entertaining all the fans.”

Like Diaz, GSP started from humble beginnings. He's been fighting since 2002, and has lost just twice. GSP is usually pretty bland in his pre-fight interviews, but balked at the idea he was handed his success.

    • Quad jumps now expected in men’s figure skating

When American Evan Lysacek won gold in figure skating at the Vancouver Olympics, Yahoo! Sports' Elvis Stojko had a huge problem with the result. Though he had no problem with Lysacek's performance, he did have a problem with the way the skate was scored.

At the time, skaters were not given more consideration for trying difficult jumps, like the quadruple jump. When competing for Canada in the 90s, Stojko became the first man to cleanly land a quad jump at the World Championships. With Lysacek not trying to repeat his difficult feat, Stojko said the 2010 result had set back the sport 20 years. In the video above, he stands by his words.

But as they traditionally do after the Olympics, figure skating officials reviewed how to score different skating elements. Quads were encouraged in the new scoring system. Canadian Patrick Chan, the reigning world champ, is expected to throw a quad at the world championships in London, Canada, next week. Top Japanese skaters Daisuke Takahashi and

    • (Getty)So, so, so many fights were announced in the past 24 hours. Here's a breakdown of what you will be seeing in coming months.

-- As you've seen from the front of Yahoo! Sports MMA, middleweight champion Anderson Silva's title bout with Chris Weidman at UFC 162 has been confirmed. It's Silva's second straight Fourth of July weekend card appearance. He won by TKO over Chael Sonnen last summer. Will he do the same against Weidman?

Also on that card will be Mark Munoz vs. Tim Boetsch, Rafael "Feijao" Cavalcante vs. Thiago Silva, and Roger Gracie vs. Tim Kennedy.

-- An injury to Alistair Overeem has forced his bout with Junior dos Santos off of UFC 160. The fight will likely take place later this summer.

-- In June, the UFC will head to Winnipeg for the first time for UFC 161. The card will be headlined with an interim bantamweight title belt bout between Renan Barao and Eddie Wineland. Also on that card, Rashad Evans will fight Dan Henderson, Antonio Rogerio Nogueira will fight Mauricio Rua, and Jake Shields will fight Tyron Woodley in a battle of Strikeforce vets.

-- Two bouts were also added to UFC on Fox 7 in April in San Jose. Flyweight Joseph Benavidez will fight Darren Uyenoyama, and Francisco Rivera will fight Hugo Viana in a bantamweight bout.

    • Post-operative transgender female fighter Fallon Fox’s license under review

When Liz Carmouche fought Ronda Rousey at UFC 157, she became the first openly gay UFC fighter. The sport is breaking new ground again with transgender female fighter Fallon Fox. As a postoperative transgender woman since 2006, Fox has two professional wins under her belt. But her license is now under review in Florida, where she knocked out Ericka Newsome in a Championship Fighting Alliance tournament bout.

Fox revealed her original gender to Sports Illustrated on Monday. She said when she applied for a license in Florida, that she already held a license in California. Once a fighter is licensed in one state, it's usually easier to get licensed in another. Fox thought she was licensed in California, but the California State Athletic Commission said her license application was under review. Though she says she disclosed her transgender history to California, she didn't to Florida.

The crux of the question behind her license is whether or not Fox's former gender would give her an advantage over opponents. Fox says it won't.

    • (Fernando Albiar)

When Rebecca Dodell and Fernando Albiar started dating, she wasn't much of an MMA fan. But she fell for the sport as their relationship grew more serious. Now, she attends UFC events and cheers on fighters with her fiance. The pair was in attendance at UFC 157 in Anaheim.

So when it came time to send out save the dates for their summer wedding, they decided to honor their favorite sport. In the front of the card, Dodell has the championship belt and Albiar has the interim. On the back, she has both because she's united the belts.

"It is who we are. Some of our family does not get it and some don’t like it. But this is us and we will continue to advocate for MMA," Albiar said.

Best wishes to the Mr. and Mrs. from Cagewriter.

As Dodell and Albiar prove, MMA fans are some of the most dedicated in sports. Do you have a story that shows just how dedicated you are to sport? Email it to Cagewriter for use in a future post.

    • The five biggest moments from ‘The Ultimate Fighter’

How does Jones no. 1 pick do? (Getty)Though this season of "The Ultimate Fighter" is much improved on previous seasons, it also feels like we're slowly ambling towards the finale in April. What were the biggest moments of Tuesday night's episode?

Soooo much gossiping — We've hit the point in the season where the conversations between fighters resemble a 7th grade lunch table. "Did you hear what he said about the guy with the thing?" They don't get television, internet access, magazines, newspapers, or contact with the outside world. They have nothing to talk about except for what goes on in the house or at training camp.

Hooters — See above. Chael Sonnen took his fighters on a trip to Hooters, and it's quite obvious that they haven't spent time with many women in weeks. Gilbert Smith's shirt came off. For some reason, Uriah Hall doesn't join in with his teammates revelry, but it sure looks like some heavy editing to advance the "No one likes Uriah" storyline.

Chael's motivational speech — "You guys are awesome." Am I the only one who wants to run through a wall after Sonnen does his best Eric Taylor and motivates his team? This speech was all about empowering his athletes to believe they are the best. If that's not the start of a heartwarming drama, I don't know what is.

    • Next wave of female UFC fighters have high hopes for the future of their division

Cat Zingano, Alexis Davis, Miesha Tate and Sara McMann are all in UFC's new division. (Twitter.com/CatZingano)

When Ronda Rousey was named the first female member of the UFC, a common worry was that the UFC was building a division just around her. But a week and a half after the UFC women's bantamweight belt was contested for the first time, the new division is starting to take shape. Miesha Tate will fight Cat Zingano at "The Ultimate Fighter" finale in what is expected to be the title eliminator for the next shot at Ronda Rousey, and Sara McMann will fight Sheila Gaff on April 27.

The fighters say that the proof of the UFC's commitment to women's MMA is in the pudding.

"Dana seems pretty excited and pretty gung-ho about it. I look at the girls he's picked so far, and they're all legit," Zingano said to Cagewriter. "The women [UFC president Dana White has] chosen are good representatives of what we're trying to do right now. The UFC creating the division is going to mean even more great women will come out of the woodwork."

      White has the same hopes.

    • Chris Culliver keeps his promise, plans to volunteer at gay support center

(Getty)San Francisco 49er Chris Culliver created a firestorm the week before the Super Bowl with controversial comments made during a radio interview. At the time, Culliver said he didn't want a gay player on his team.

Just a month later, Culliver spent a day at the Trevor Project's Los Angeles office. He also paid for an educator from the organization that provides crisis support for LQBT young people to meet with him.

Culliver's comments before the Super Bowl were widely criticized.

''Ain't got no gay people on the team. They gotta get up outta here if they do. Can't be with that sweet stuff ... Can't be ... in the locker room, nah,'' he said. ''You've gotta come out 10 years later after that.''

Considering how players like Baltimore's Brendon Ayanbadejo and Minnesota's Chris Kluwe had been supportive of a gay player coming out, Culliver's words were surprising. They were particularly controversial in San Francisco, a city that is historically welcoming to the LGBT community.

Culliver apologized and promised to undergo sensitivity training. He came through on that promise, and also says he wants to volunteer. The staff at the Trevor Project don't doubt his sincerity.

"Chris is a young guy himself," spokeswoman Laura McGinnis said to the Sacramento Bee. "He reached out to The Trevor Project. And that's a good thing."

Culliver's comments were offensive and not thought out, but he is making amends in a way that could end up helping LGBT youth who need it. McGinnis is right. That's a good thing.

    • UFC light heavyweight champ Jon Jones welcomes new contender — his newborn daughter

(Twitter.com/JonnyBones)UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones sent out a tweet early Monday morning that he would soon have big news to share. Would it be about his fight on April 27 with Chael Sonnen? Something about the latest episode of "The Ultimate Fighter?" Nah, it was much better than that. Jones shared the news that he and girlfriend Jessie Moses had welcomed their third child into the world.

Though Jones was beaming with pride and clearly happy to be there for the birth of his third daughter, he still is a fighter. They always hate to miss a workout.
