But last Saturday, McGloin sounded off on a controversial call that cost the Nittany Lions a touchdown at Nebraska, and his midweek availability was scrapped.

There he is (he's "Sideline Guy," on the message board, of course, with no other identification) with former Heisman Trophy winner John David Crow, with the Alabama mascot, about an arm's length away from Johnny Manziel, standing a couple feet from the field as A&M lines up for a play.

Oh, and there he is running behind Aggies coach Kevin Sumlin as the team went to the locker room at halftime.

If it's a message board hoax, it's certainly well done at least.

Honestly, the story of how this fan spent the afternoon roaming the Texas A&M sideline is hilarious (and totally wrong, kids ... totally wrong, got it?).

(US Preswire)A few years ago, the idea of Jeff Tedford being dumped by Cal seemed inconceivable. He was one of the hottest coaching names in America.

But as a very disappointing season for Cal nears its conclusion, Bears athletic director Sandy Barbour told the Contra Costa Times that she will meet with Tedford as soon as Sunday, a day after Cal finishes its season at Oregon State, to discuss his future as football coach.

If that sounds ominous for Tedford, it might be.

So troublesome that running back De'Anthony Thomas may have to play some defense this week against Stanford.

The Oregonian, citing an unnamed source, said Thomas could play some defensive back this week. Thomas is a great athlete, and The Oregonian story recalled Thomas making a one-handed interception playing defensive back during informal warmups before last year's Rose Bowl. Still, this is far from an ideal situation for a team that's trying to win out and play for a national title.

Texas Tech coach Tommy Tuberville said he did not slap graduate assistant coach Kevin Oliver, but apologized to Oliver and acknowledged he lost his cool and overreacted on the sideline during last Saturday's game.

"You don't do things like that," Tuberville said at his weekly press conference, according to KCBD.com.

On Saturday, Texas Tech had a 12th player on the field during a fourth-and-2 and was called for a penalty. Tuberville was upset at Oliver on the sideline. The extra player was a special teams player, and Oliver works with the special teams. Tuberville made a quick motion with his hand at Oliver, and Oliver's headset and hat were knocked off his head. Tuberville was adamant he did not slap Oliver. He did appear to snatch the headset off his head.

The Eagles are now 3-6 and haven't given their fans too much to get excited about, but receiver Riley Cooper had a great highlight against Dallas.

Michael Vick's short fade route pass on third-and-goal was overthrown a bit, to get over Cowboys rookie cornerback Morris Claiborne. Cooper used all of his 6-3 frame and athletic ability to jump, reach and grab it out of the air with one hand. The 2-yard touchdown gave the Eagles an early 7-0 lead.

Cooper had just two catches on the season coming into the game, but his third catch was a thing of beauty.

Giving up two back-breaking, head-scratching, fourth-quarter touchdowns to find a way to lose is what Dallas usually does.

Fortunately for the Cowboys, the Eagles have plenty of experience in that disappointing dance as well.

Dallas turned a tie game into a 14-point lead in the matter of 70 seconds -- three touchdowns came within 2:35 of each other -- and beat the Eagles 38-23. Dallas improved to 4-5 with the win.
