It wasn't the voltage but the amps this young Philllies fan felt on Monday night in Philadelphia.

In the eighth inning of a Phillies-Cardinals game, a 17-year-old male hopped a fence at Citizens Bank Park. He fled security for a few seconds until a Philadelphia police officer fired a Taser gun at the boy from about 15-feet away, dropping him on the spot in left-center field.

The Philadelphia Inquirer spoke to this young man's dad on Tuesday morning and reports that the kid actually called his father to ask for permission before running on the field. The dad told him it wasn't the best of ideas — you think? — but the future Penn State student went ahead and did it anyway. He's being charged as a juvenile for resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and defiant trespass.

"He wasn't drinking. He was not on drugs," the father said.

If Zack Greinke's season continues like this, he would make for quite a test case for the BBWAA.

Greinke made the mistake of allowing a solo home run to Evan Longoria on Sunday, and it cost him and the Kansas City Royals a 1-0 decision to the Tampa Bay Rays. Tough as that result sounds, it is not atypical for pitcher or team.

After six starts, Greinke is 0-3. He's on pace to finish with 214 strikeouts, an 0.98 WHIP, an ERA of 2.27 ... and a record of 0-19.

As long as his health holds up, Greinke will win his share of games this season. He is too skilled and no one is that unlucky. Plus, the Royals are 10-15 overall, which is bad but not awful. Yet. They're obviously capable of providing some form of support offensively.

Greinke is aware he won't go 0-19. Probably.

The O's began the season 2-16, their worst April since the infamous 0-21 in 1988, so they had little reason to expect a sweep. But damn, it feels good.

"It's just great for the team, individuals who have gone through a lot of pain and mimicry for 30 days," Trembley said. "I believe we've gotten through the worst. The good days are ahead."
