FOX TV caught the celebrity A-List couple engaged in an epicurean display of public affection early in the first quarter Sunday night. As Diaz lovingly dangled popped kernels onto A-Rod's waiting tongue, he looked up toward the giant video board at Dallas Cowboys Stadium and realized they weren't alone.

As video below shows, there's nowhere for A-Rod to hide. He's a New York Yankees attention magnet.

FOX's Joe Buck said what many of us were thinking: "I'm sure Alex is thrilled we just put the camera on him at that moment."

The theme, if you didn't already notice, is The Great Players and Their Mustaches — or Sometimes Beards, or Sometimes Mullets — in Recent Major League History.

Most of the shirts, done in team colors, feature silhouette faces of superstars of the 1970s, '80s and early '90s. From left to right, top to bottom, we have Rollie Fingers of the Milwaukee Brewers and Ozzie Smith of the St. Louis Cardinals. Below them, Reggie Jackson of the New York Yankees and Randy Johnson(notes) of the Seattle Mariners.

Reggie's batting helmet and glasses, along with Unit's mullet, are such great touches.

Florida Marlins president David Samson chose wisely by asking young outfielder Logan Morrison(notes) to be part of a group headed overseas this week to visit U.S. troops.

Morrison's ability to communicate, along with his late father's history working in the Coast Guard, made Morrison a natural for such an assignment.

"When David asked me to do this, my only answer was yes, with my father being in the military," Morrison said. "It was a way to honor him."

Morrison's father, Tom Morrison, died in December after a long battle with lung cancer. Logan Morrison hasn't been shy in expressing how close he and his father were.

But Morrison's dad is not his only motivation in agreeing to go to Germany and Southwest Asia.

A television executive named Larry Meli tried to get folks excited over the weekend about the possibility of Martin Luther King III buying a piece of the New York Mets.

Problem No. 1: King said Monday that any talk of his involvement in such an ownership group is "way premature."

Problem No. 2: King, who runs the non-profit King Center in Atlanta, says he doesn't have any money.

After playing 17 seasons in the majors, Atlanta Braves slugger Chipper Jones(notes) seems to be realizing his baseball career is winding down.

So, in an effort to stay relevant after he hangs up the spikes, Jones began a new career Monday by training to be a flight attendant at Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.

OK, that's not what really happened. During a stop on the Braves' winter caravan, Jones and other team personnel worked as gate agents in a publicity gag for Delta Airlines.

Also joining in: manager Fredi Gonzalez and pitching coach Roger McDowell, along with players Jordan Schafer(notes), Tommy Hanson(notes), Peter Moylan(notes) and Scott Linebrink(notes).

Circle the No. 28 for the Minnesota Twins.

Circle it, frame it, hang it up on a wall at Target Field.

No Twins player ever will wear 28 again, now that the club has announced its retirement in honor of Hall of Fame pitcher Bert Blyleven.

Blyleven becomes the sixth Twins player to have his number retired, joining Harmon Killebrew (No. 3), Rod Carew (No. 29), Tony Oliva (No. 6), Kent Hrbek (No. 14) and Kirby Puckett (No. 34).

This is a happy day for Blyleven and his fans, who still must be coasting from Bert's election to baseball's Hall of Fame earlier this month.

Not to be all Johnny Raindrops ... but what took the Twins so long to do this?

Was the club waiting for the Hall of Fame to circle Bert? If so, it's a new policy; not all of the Twins with retired numbers are in the Hall, and those who are didn't have to wait.

Was the club simply waiting for reliever Jesse Crain(notes) to leave town? He wore 28 from 2004-10, and was the last of four players to wear it after Blyleven retired.

There goes U2's Bono again, imposing his will on the Major League Baseball schedule.

As it attempts a reboot of its canceled 2010 tour, the world's biggest rock 'n' roll band is booting the Seattle Mariners and Florida Marlins from Sun Life Stadium for their interleague series on June 24-26. Instead of home games in Miami Gardens, the Fish will take on Ichiro(notes) at Safeco Field in Seattle using National League rules. This apparently means 84 home games for the M's and 78 for Florida. Uneven!

It also could mean that AL Cy Young winner King Felix Hernandez(notes) (pictured holding the young man) could get to bat in front of the home crowd. If his turn comes in the pitching rotation, of course. Look what can happen when the best pitcher in the AL gets in some hacks.

In the most recent edition of the New York Post, bombastic New York Yankees co-chairman Hank Steinbrenner — who is often locked away in an undisclosed Tampa basement made unavailable to the press because he might say something controversial — riffed about the upcoming season.

So good job for finding him, Kevin Kernan:

"We just have to [fudging] win," HankStein most notably opined.

Only he didn't say "fudging."

There is nothing better than Hank Steinbrenner escaping the Fortress of Yankeetude and talking to someone from the media. His brother, Hal Steinbrenner, comes off as more restrained, reasonable and responsible.

But what fun is that? GM Brian Cashman obviously is letting Hank rub off on him (figuratively).

Sure, in some respects Hank is merely a chain-smoking imitation of his father, George Steinbrenner. So what? I happen to miss George Steinbrenner and Hank's the closest thing we got. All Hank needs is a king costume
