  • Week 6 fantasy wrap: Big Ben goes down in Mostly NFL Notes

Dalton Del Don at Roto Arcade 5 days ago

Despite returning for the second half Sunday, an MRI has revealed a torn meniscus for Ben Roethlisberger that will require surgery, giving him an unclear timetable for his return. There’s hope he can be back as soon as Week 9 after Pittsburgh’s bye, although that’s hardly a guarantee. As long as he’s out, it’s obviously bad news for Antonio Brown, Le’Veon Bell and Sammie Coates. Bell and Brown will remain must starts, but their upside takes a major hit with Landry Jones taking over at QB. Coates can be safely benched, especially while dealing with an injury of his own…In a day filled with unexpected contributors, none was more surprising than Jay Ajayi running for 200+ yards and two scores against the Steelers during Arian Foster’s return…Darrius Heyward-Bey has some serious speed…The Steelers home/road splits are a real thing, just ask those who took them in Survivor this week.

  • Fantasy Stock Watch: LeSean McCoy rising, Melvin Gordon falling

Dalton Del Don at Roto Arcade 11 days ago

LeSean McCoy: He’s quietly on pace to finish with 1,734 yards from scrimmage and 13 touchdowns. McCoy has secured 19-of-21 targets and sports the best YPC (5.3) of his career. He’ll lose the occasional goal-line carry, but in an era that features more and more committees, McCoy is as valuable as ever during his eighth year in the league. His impressive numbers figure to only get better in a highly favorable matchup at home against the 49ers in Week 6.

T.Y. Hilton: He’s totaled 387 yards and three touchdowns over the past three games and looks like a borderline top-five fantasy wideout. It sure helps the Colts have a poor defense and are forced to throw a ton, and Phillip Dorsett has failed to emerge as a viable replacement for the injured Donte Moncrief. Hilton is the only receiver in the NFL with double-digit targets in every game this season, and his stock is soaring.

  • Week 5 fantasy wrap: Ezekiel Elliott already among elite in Mostly NFL Notes

Dalton Del Don at Roto Arcade 12 days ago

Ezekiel Elliott continues to impress, totaling 171 yards (on 18 touches) and running for two scores against a Bengals defense that entered having yet to allow a rushing touchdown on the year. Over the last three games, the rookie has rushed for 412 yards (6.1 YPC), and he’s now up to five TDs on the year. Elliott has gotten better every game, and the Dallas offensive line is starting to dominate again, highlighted by his first carry in the second half Sunday. Le’Veon Bell and David Johnson are the clear top two fantasy backs, but Elliott is right behind them in tier one. He just recently turned 21 years old, and he’s on pace to finish the season with 2,006 yards from scrimmage and 16 touchdowns. And that’s with Alfred Morris, Lance Dunbar and Dak Prescott “stealing” six other rushing scores. Elliott is already one of the five most valuable fantasy players…Andy Dalton saved his fantasy day with two TD passes in the final 10 minutes in garbage time, but the Bengals continue to struggle inside the red zone and badly miss Tyler Eifert.

  • NFL Stock Watch: Matt Ryan rising, Andrew Luck falling

Dalton Del Don at Roto Arcade 18 days ago

Matt Ryan: He just threw for 500 yards and four touchdowns against last year’s NFC champions, and Ryan is on pace to finish the season with 5,892 yards (the NFL record is 5,477) and 44 scores. An easy schedule has helped, and it’s about to get much tougher (the Falcons play in Denver and in Seattle over the next two weeks), but it’s hard to ignore just how impressive this Atlanta offense has been during year two in Kyle Shanahan’s system. Ryan’s 10.5 YPA not only leads the NFL, the next best is a distant second at 8.5. He’s in store for easily the best season of his career.

Quincy Enunwa: He’s averaging a healthy 8.0 targets per game this year, and that number is going to increase with Eric Decker sidelined indefinitely with a shoulder injury. The Jets have allowed a league-high 9.7 YPA, so they figure to have to throw a ton to keep up with Pittsburgh’s potent offense in Week 5, making Enunwa a borderline WR2 play.

  • Week 4 fantasy wrap: Ben Roethlisberger tops Mostly NFL Notes

Dalton Del Don at Roto Arcade 19 days ago

One week after losing 34-3, Ben Roethlisberger threw for 300 yards and five touchdowns (with zero picks) in a 43-14 dismantling of the Chiefs on Sunday night. He got 11.1 YPA and tossed five TDs for the fifth time in his career on just 27 attempts. Even after getting shut down against a surprisingly stingy Philadelphia defense (the Eagles have yet to allow a single passing score on the year), Big Ben is still on pace to finish with 44 passing touchdowns, which would be a dozen more than his career high. Dating back to last season, Roethlisberger has thrown a whopping 24 touchdowns over his past eight home games, and he gets a Jets team that’s allowed an NFL-high 9.7 YPA this season in Week 5. With Le’Veon Bell back from suspension, Sammie Coates emerging as a real deep threat, and Antonio Brown doing Antonio Brown things, the Steelers offense is extremely dangerous, and Roethlisberger is going to put up monstrous numbers as a result.

  • NFL Stock Watch: Christine Michael rising, Randall Cobb falling

Dalton Del Don at Roto Arcade 25 days ago

Christine Michael: He ran for 106 yards and scored the first two touchdowns of his career in Week 3, and impressed while doing so even if it was a favorable matchup. Thomas Rawls is going to miss multiple weeks with a fibula injury, so there’s a big opportunity for Michael to take full control of Seattle’s backfield. The Seahawks’ immediate upcoming schedule isn’t ideal (@NYJ, bye), but it really eases up after that. Michael should be treated as an RB1 right now, and if a draft were held today, he’d be gone within the first three rounds, if not sooner.

Carson Wentz: It’s taken the raw rookie coming from North Dakota State who missed most of the preseason with an injury all of three games to be in the QB1 discussion, as Wentz has been one of the biggest surprises so far in 2016. He’s the real deal.
