  • Pickups of the Week: David Johnson, Dontrelle Inman and solutions to your tight end problem

Andy Behrens at Roto Arcade 23 hrs ago

Each week, we identify six players to target on fantasy waiver wires, plus a lightly owned team defense. These fantasy assets are all available in a majority of Yahoo leagues.

Scott Chandler, TE, New England Patriots, 6 percent owned

It isn't often that we lead Pickups of the Week with multiple tight ends — usually, this position is a throw-in, buried at the end of the list. But of course it isn't every week that two of the greatest pass-catching tight ends in NFL history both suffer ugly knee injuries. Seattle's Jimmy Graham is done for the season after tearing his right patellar tendon, a potential career-altering injury, and New England's Rob Gronkowski was carted to the locker room on Sunday night after taking a full-speed hit to his right knee.

In Gronk's case, the early reports have been encouraging...

Source confirms that Gronk has a minor knee strain, out a week or possibly two at most. HUGE disaster averted

    FAAB bid: $12 ($100 budget)

Vance McDonald, TE, San Francisco 49ers, 0 percent

    FAAB bid: $5

David Johnson, RB, Arizona Cardinals, 24 percent

    FAAB bid: All of it.

Shaun Draughn, RB, San Francisco 49ers, 28 percent

    FAAB bid: $9

    FAAB bid: $13

    FAAB bid: $10

  • Fantasy Takeaways, Week 12: Last call on Spencer Ware

Andy Behrens at Roto Arcade 1 day ago

    1) Spencer Ware is legit . He deserves the rest-of-season featured role for KC.

Uh-oh, Charcandrick West owners. Spencer Ware just feasted again. If you like merciless power running, here's a highlight for you. Ware steamrolled Bacarri Rambo at the end of that thing. And here's a clip of Ware's 3-yard rushing score from the win over Buffalo. Over his past two games, the man has gained 216 yards on 34 touches, crossing the goal line three times and generally looking like a bad, bad dude.

  • Pickups of the Week: Rawls, Funchess, Allen and other season-saving adds

Thomas Rawls, RB, Seattle Seahawks, 32 percent owned

If you've patiently held Rawls all season, either as a handcuff or a lottery ticket, we salute you. Go ahead and take an early victory lap. You've earned it. Talk whatever smack needs to be talked. We should maybe create a special Toyota fantasy medal for all the Rawls stashers, too. The kid was tremendous in Sunday's home win over the Niners, accounting for 255 yards from scrimmage on a whopping 33 touches. Check the highlights here. Rawls was a terror, running uncommon power and aggression, like a Beast Mode replicant. He's clearly a candidate to remain Seattle's featured runner beyond 2015.

    FAAB bid: All of it.

    FAAB bid: $33 ($100 budget).

  • Thursday Fantasy Fliers, Week 11: Dexter McCluster and Dorial Green-Beckham

Andy Behrens at Roto Arcade 12 days ago

Let's be very clear, right here at the top: We do not recommend a multi-Titan fantasy lineup. Not this week, not any week. Doesn't seem ideal. As much as we all like rookie quarterback Marcus Mariota, he's directing an offense that ranks No. 30 in the league in total yardage (321.6 YPG) and No. 27 in scoring (18.8). You can only own so many shares of a team like this.

[Yahoo Daily Fantasy: $10 could win you $50K in our $350K contest for Week 11]

However, we have four teams on bye this week and, by this point in the season, injuries have hit everyone's fantasy roster. So there's a decent chance you're looking to the free agent pool for assistance in Week 11. Here are two names approved for use in deeper formats, in case of emergency...

RB Dexter McCluster, 21 percent owned, $14 in Yahoo daily

WR Dorial Green-Beckham, 22 percent owned, $13 in Yahoo daily

  • Pickups of the Week: Danny Amendola and Brock Osweiler, suddenly fantasy relevant

Andy Behrens at Yahoo Sports 14 days ago

Each week, we identify six players to target on fantasy waiver wires, plus a lightly owned team defense. These fantasy assets are all available in a majority of Yahoo leagues.

Danny Amendola, WR, New England Patriots, 29%

Amendola is a near lock to deliver top-20 numbers at his position over the final six weeks of the fantasy season — and possibly top-10 in PPR formats — which makes him, without question, your priority pick-up. Julian Edelman suffered a Jones fracture to his left foot on Sunday, an injury likely to sideline him for the remainder of the regular season, though perhaps not in playoffs. Edelman will undergo surgery on Monday. Not surprisingly, Amendola was peppered with short-range targets in Sunday's win over the Giants, hauling in 10 of 11 for 79 yards (a classically Edelman-ish stat line). Let's also remember that all those Dion Lewis targets are up for grabs as well. When waiver claims clear this week, Amendola and Brandon LaFell really should be universally owned. Danny isn't exactly Edelman, but he can deliver a decent impression of No. 11 over the next two months.

    FAAB bid: $19 ($100 budget).

Chris Givens, WR, Baltimore Ravens, 10%

    FAAB bid: $12

  • Thursday Fantasy Flier, Week 10: Ryan Fitzpatrick, still available everywhere

Andy Behrens at Roto Arcade 19 days ago

Generally speaking, we expect a certain level of week-to-week variance in every player's fantasy production. Ryan Fitzpatrick, however, has been a notable exception.

[Yahoo Daily Fantasy Football: First place wins $100K in our $500K contest for Week 10]

Fitz has been weirdly and hypnotically consistent for the Jets over the season's first half. He's thrown exactly two touchdown passes in six of his eight starts. If we disregard Week 8, when he was sidelined by an injury to his non-throwing hand, Fitzpatrick's lowest passing output in any of his last six games is 218 yards while his best is 295. Few players, regardless of position, have been as oddly predictable as Fitz. His floor and ceiling are nearly the same in any given week.

And yet for whatever reason, Fitzpatrick is only 23 percent owned in Yahoo leagues and 12 percent started. No one's buying — even with Luck, Ryan, Rivers, Romo and possibly Roethlisberger unavailable this week.

  • Are Cam Newton and Greg Olsen a solid daily fantasy stack in Week 10?

Andy Behrens at Yahoo Sports Fantasy Minute 19 days ago

OK, so the game's best QB-TE combo is still, without question, Tom Bradyand Rob Gronkowski. No argument there. And so far this season, Andy Dalton and Tyler Eifert have been awfully good, too.

But if you're looking for an affordable, high-ceiling stack for DFS purposes in Week 10 (or any week), your best play is Cam Newton and Greg Olsen. Newton is currently on pace to throw 28 touchdown passes and rush for 10, so he's basically delivering the numbers of a QB2 AND an RB2. Olsen, meanwhile, is on pace for the best statistical season of his excellent career. If his second-half looks like the first, he'll finish with a career-high 1168 receiving yards and 10 scores. In Yahoo's daily game this week, you can pair Cam and Olsen for a mere $59, a ridiculous steal.

  • Fantasy Takeaways, Week 9: If you own Derek Carr, no need to carry a backup QB

Andy Behrens at Roto Arcade 22 days ago

    1. Derek Carr is well inside the circle of fantasy trust.

At Derek Carr's current pace, he'll break the Raiders' single-season franchise record for passing touchdowns (34) at some point in Week 16, when Oakland hosts the Chargers. Carr has a clear shot at reaching Rich Gannon's single-season yardage record, too. Not bad for a second-year pro who was occasionally a punchline as a rookie.

Oakland has only one stay-away match-up remaining on the schedule — at Denver in Week 14 — so there's a clear path for Carr to close the season as a top-10 fantasy QB. If his binge at Pittsburgh didn't win you over (or the similar binge against the Jets in Week 8), then it's possible your standards are unreasonably high. He gets Minnesota next week, then Detroit's defense in Week 11. The Lions rank dead-last in the league completion percentage allowed (73.1) and yards per attempt (8.7).

    2. Karlos Williams needs to be owned everywhere.

    3. Antonio Brown and DeAngelo Williams were spectacular on Sunday. And it might be time to trade 'em both.

But here's the (very) bad news...

  • Thursday Fantasy Flier, Week 9: Johnny Manziel is starting so you want the Bengals D, obviously

Andy Behrens at Roto Arcade 26 days ago

Johnny Manziel will start at quarterback for the Cleveland Browns on Thursday against the undefeated Bengals, creating an obvious fantasy opportunity for anyone who can still get their hands on the Cincinnati defense.

Manziel has appeared in nine games so far in his NFL career, starting three, and the numbers have been ugly: 46-for-85 (54.1%), 3 TDs, 3 INTs, 6.7 Y/A, 19 carries for 71 yards (3.7 YPC), rush TD, 5 fumbles.

[Play Yahoo Daily Fantasy and get a 100% deposit bonus with your first deposit]

Whatever you once thought Johnny Football might become, or hoped he might become ... well, c'mon. We've seen almost no evidence that he's an NFL-caliber passer. He's pathologiclaly reckless with the football and way too willing to drift off-script.

The Bengals aren't quite a bargain-bin defense in daily ($15), but they can still deliver a profit.

  • Thursday Fantasy Fliers, Week 8: Danny Amendola, and other under-owned receivers

Andy Behrens at Roto Arcade 1 mth ago

We've been conditioned to expect less-than-stellar games on Thursday nights, but this week's match-up is loaded with promise. New England enters the week averaging 410.8 total yards per game, plus the Pats currently lead the NFL in scoring (35.5 PPG) by a wide margin. Miami, of course, was reborn during its bye, when Dan Campbell replaced Joe Philbin as head coach. The Dolphins have gained 937 yards and put up a ridiculous 82 points over their past two games.

[Yahoo Daily Fantasy Football: First place wins $100K in our $600K contest for Week 8]

And then there's this guy, who's been a target-magnet over the last two weeks...

Danny Amendola, WR, New England Patriots (39 percent owned, $16 in Yahoo daily)
