Scouting Report on Shep Klinke

On the Hoof: Klinke will physically remind fans of Alabama offensive lineman Tyler Love. He is every bit of 6 feet 7 and 290 pounds with wide shoulders, long arms and athletic legs. Look for him to eventually play at around 320 pounds.
Needs Improvement: Like most tall linemen, Klinke needs to work on hand placement, which could be also be improved by working on knee flexibility. Almost every defender he goes up against will be shorter and try to use leverage to beat him to the outside.
Most Impressive: He uses his long arms like battering rams jamming guys all the way down field until after the whistle blows. Klinke also has the ability to easily steer the outside pass rush past the pocket with a one-arm shove. He also has excellent lateral movement for a giant.
Conclusion: Will definitely battle for playing time as a true freshman as either a left or right offensive tackle. He is just too big and tough on the gridiron to not find a spot in the rotation early on. Klinke has all-conference potential and the size and athletic ability to be as good as he wants.
