Scouting Report on Austin Johnson

by Jerry Meyer - 06/15/2004
Johnson needs to gain weight for the next level, but his best basketball is definitely ahead of him. He is a scorer with a great feel for the game on both sides of the ball. A full court offensive and defensive style will serve his athletic, finesse style best. As he adds strength to his skilled and heady game, he will only get better and better.

Jerry Meyer serves as a national scout and recruiting analyst for Rivals.com. He played at Lipscomb University where be became college basketball's all-time career assist leader. Meyer earned Mr. Basketball honors in the state of Tennessee as a high school junior and senior. He has served as an assistant coach at Vanderbilt and also co-authored the book, "Basketball Skills and Drills."
