Russell Athletic Offensive Player of the Week

Philadelphia Soul QB Dan Raudabaugh completed 16 of his 20 passes against the Georgia Force on April 7, totaling 272 yards, six touchdowns, and no interceptions. His performance during the Soul's 92-42 victory secured him Offensive Player of the Week honors.

Riddell Defensive Player of the Week

Week 5 brings us two Defensive Players of the Week. Iowa Barnstormers DB/KR Jason Simpson celebrated his 29th birthday on April 6 in style. In the 'Stormers' 55-42 victory over the Pittsburgh Power, Simpson racked up 9.5 tackles, including one for a loss, and two interceptions, earning him Co-Defensive Player of the Week honors.

Soul LB Joe Goosby contributed heavily to Philadelphia's victory over Georgia, recording 3.5 tackles and forcing a fumble. He also registered two interceptions in the game, returning both of them for touchdowns. Goosby was named the other Co-Defensive Player of the Week for his efforts.

JLS Ironman of the Week

Power WR/KR P.J. Berry was named the Ironman of the Week after recording nine receptions for 110 yards and two touchdowns in the team's loss to Iowa. Berry also returned seven kickoffs for a total of 173 yards, including a 58-yarder for a touchdown in the second quarter.

Cutters Catch of the Week

San Jose SaberCats WR Huey Whittaker somehow found daylight in blanket coverage during the team's 76-53 victory over the San Antonio Talons on April 6 and caught a pass from QB Mark Grieb in the back of the end zone while acrobatically keeping his feet in-bounds. Whittaker tallied six receptions for 59 yards and three scores in the contest, but none was more spectacular than his tightrope act for a touchdown.

AFL Playmaker of the Week

Arizona Rattlers WR Maurice Purify might turn out to be pretty good at this whole arena football thing. Fresh off his 2011 AFL Rookie of the Year honors, Purify has caught at least three touchdown passes in every game in 2012. On April 7 against the Spokane Shock, he reeled in 10 receptions for a staggering 205 yards and three more scores in the Rattlers' 57-53 victory.

Spalding Highlight of the Week

New Orleans VooDoo DB Jeremy Kellem picked off a pass on NET10 Arena Football Friday and returned it 39 yards for a touchdown against the Tampa Bay Storm. The play capped a second quarter in which the VooDoo outscored the Storm, 26-0, effectively breaking their backs and securing the 66-47 home victory. Kellem finished the game with nine tackles, including one for a loss, and two pass break-ups on top of his pick-six.
